Bowers & Wilkins P5 Mobile Hi-Fi Headphones

maximum pc
21 April 2010
  • Excerpt: Bowers & Wilkins’ P5 Mobile Hi-Fi Headphones have blown away several of our long-held beliefs: First, they’ve demonstrated that circumaural muffs aren’t the only means of isolating outside noise and preventing sound leakage in a traditional headphone design; second, they’ve proven that large drivers aren’t a requirement for fantastic bass response; and third, they've revealed that we’re not immune to the charms of fashion. We find this last revelation the most curious.
  • Pros: Exquisite sound, impeccable design, decadent comfort.
  • Cons: $300 list price renders them expensive; too-short cable.

Review: Bowers & Wilkins P5 Headphones

Wired
22 March 2010
  • Excerpt: You can get a great set of over-the ear headphones for $100 or less — pick up Grado’s SR60i or Shure’s SRH440, and you’d need a keen ear and a petrified ass to muster any sonic gripes. So spending three times that much would seem downright stupid. That said, we suggest you skip meals for a couple weeks and divert the money you would’ve spent eating on a pair of Bowers & Wilkins P5s.

CNET
7 May 2010
  • Summary: Wer wirklich guten Sound wünscht, muss entweder tausende von Euro in Lautsprecher stecken, oder hochwertige HiFi-Kopfhörer kaufen.
