Summary: This item is discontinued by the manufacturer which is only a problem if you need warranty service. This is the second item I've ordered in the past year from Newegg which was discontinued, but no mention of that fact in the product description. The only way I knew that is other sites clearly state that. Those would be the sites I will use from now on even if the price is higher than Newegg. Yeah, the ones with free 2 day shipping and full disclosure.
Pros: These sound great like they were over $100 headphones when I only paid $30.
Cons: Newegg, Newegg, and Newegg. Hello, free shipping is useless if it takes 17 days. That's right,17 days with Fedex Smart Post to get this item from Memphis. Congratulations, this is the longest its taken for me to get any item I've ordered from anywhere in the last 10 years.
Summary: Lightweight, very good sound quality. Very comfortable on the head and ears. A bit lacking in the low end but very good when used with my PC and Ipod. Quality build, great price, very good sound.
Summary: These are some headphones I bought sometime last year. When I tried them, they seemed good enough for my part when I wasn't very meticulous with my headphones.
After some research, these headphones are a revival of the ATH-2, which are headphones from the 70s. The design is shared from the ATH-2, the steel headband above the leather one.
Pros: Durable steel frame, small earcups good for placing in your bag easily, portable, highs are smooth, bass is punchy.
Cons: mids are a bit lacking and are a little dark, are not comfortable to wear for some time, pads are hard as rocks
Summary: To be fair, these headphones aren't "broken in". I work for a company who sells them, and we have a few new pairs in the photo studio, so I borrowed one from the stylist and wore it for a half hour while working then A/Bed it with my Koss Portapro.
I found it initially to clamp a bit hard, but the metal headband can be reshaped to reduce pressure on the ears.
Summary: Why didn't you tell me there was a brown and white version? I'd definitely have bought those.
Pros: Comfort 4/5 Sound Quality 5/5 SQ adjusted for price 7/5 Build Quality 5/5 Quick guide to headphone buying - Compare the following, listed in order of importance: Frequency response - These things will hit 10Hz, that's lower than a 12" subwoofer. You will hear bass lines you didn't even know were there. Then, all the way up to 24kHz, that extra 4khz at the top isn't considered "audible," but, musical instruments produce harmonics many octaves above and below the note p...
Cons: The comfort I mentioned above isn't an issue. My ears get sore after a long listening session, but by that point, you will probably want to take a break anyway.
