Why pay more?

  • Excerpt: I wanted an inexpensive pair of headphones to listen to CDs and DVDs on my portable player. I had gotten a pair of earbuds but, for some reason, they lost their treble. I did not have a lot to spend so, out of a number of headphones on your website for $[$]or less, I chose thes because I liked the way that they looked, the price, and the mostly positive reviews. As far as my own experience, they are extremely comfortable for the price and seem to be well constructed.
  • Pros: Bargain Price, Clear Sound, Compact, Easy To Use, Lightweight, Stylish
  • Cons: Delicate

Good exercise headphones

  • Excerpt: I like to listen to music while exercising, but I don't care for ear buds. I've had the Sennheiser PX 100 and loved them, really great sound. The plug became damaged and not worth repairing. I did not want to spend the money to replace so I bought the the ATH P. It is a decent headphone for what it costs, though not the great sound of the Sennheiser. The negatives: not foldable, ear covers not replaceable.

Excellent sound and comfort, not durable

  • Excerpt: The sound is excellent on these. They sound better than the earphones my iPod came with. They're very comfortable too. The wiring seems thick and durable, but there appears to be a custom made fabric covering over each earpiece that will eventually stretch and tear. I don't see any way of replacing it without a major hassle, so these phones are essentially disposable unfortunately. Enjoy them while they last.
  • Pros: Comfortable, Great Sound, Lightweight

ATH-P5. Best bang for the buck.

  • Excerpt: I use this for my Ipod. Can't stand earbuds. This gives the best sound for the money in my opinion. Quite comfortable too. Sound noticeably richer than the older ATH-P1 it replaced. For mp3 listening with an Ipod or similar (Zune) I highly recommend them.

Price-to-Performance King

  • Pros: I wasn't expecting a whole lot from a pair of phones this cheap, but these sound a great deal better than my $50 cr3a71ves! These especially shine when it comes to mid-high range clarity. Listening to guns & roses, I notice that I was missing out on strings and even some drum kicks and cymbals. Gorillaz, anything synth comes through absolutely crystal. They weigh close to nothing, sometimes I forget I'm wearing them. Also, they can get freakin' LOUD without distorting.
  • Cons: The bass is defined, but not very strong. But for the price and design, its good. Zero sound canceling might be bad for people working in a noisy environment. These are my first set of open cans, and the trade off is a very pleasant airy effect. Cord is a little short (looks like 3 ft.) but I had an extension laying around.

Let this be a warning to all, don't look at just specs!

  • Summary: It is a unit that looks like it's for portable audio, but it is better suited for home use.
  • Pros: Quality driver, plays well at loud ranges, better than average mid-range.
  • Cons: Crap with portable players. Needs a lot of power.
