Summary: I've owned a few different kinds of headsets including: Logitech G930s, Beats, a few different Philips and Sony headsets, turtle beach, Skullcandy SLYR all north of $100 and these take the cake by miles.
Pros: Comfortable, Great Sound, fantastic build quality. These live up to their reviews.
Cons: Proprietary audio connector to the headset. Not a huge con but something to keep in mind should your cable break. Something weird happened to my sound card when I cranked these to full. The card stopped working, several restarts and no dice. Had to reinstall drivers to get it working again, still...
Excerpt: the m50x's are simply the best bang for buck headphones available. These headphones have a fairly balanced sound without being so flat that music listening is unenjoyable. These headphones are perfect for filmmakers for in the field or for mobile editing.
Excerpt: I have a pair of Sennheiser Momentums, which sound great, but I find rather uncomfortable for prolonged use due to the small size of the cans (my ears are average size). I found that the ATH-M50x sound was very similar to the Momentum's, but even a little bit better for my taste with a deeper bass,...

Excerpt: OVERVIEW/SOUND QUALITY I purchased these headphones primarily for film/video post production, but plan to listen to music at home/at school/on-the-go with these sleek "cups," as audio experts put it. I am no audio expert.
Pros: Compact, Durable, Good Bass, Good Value, Great Sound, Lightweight, Stylish
Excerpt: No complaints. They sound way better than any other pair I've owned. They feel pretty durable, and they're not as douchy looking as many headphones I've seen. I really like the interchangeable cables. For me the coiled one is just right. They do get a little uncomfortable after a few hours.
Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Good Value, Great Sound
Excerpt: I do a lot of audio editing creating sound effects and theater sound cues. When traveling or when I can't otherwise use my studio speakers, I need something that doesn't color the sound. For, me the AT-M50s have long been my choise. They work for me.
Pros: Clean Uncolored Sound, Comfortable, Good Bass, Great Sound
Excerpt: first of all, this is not a noise cancellation headphone. If you are looking for NC, go to Bose. However let's face this, under$, you could get a headphone quality is way better than beats or the main stream brands in the market, you better know where you put your money.
Excerpt: I use these for general listening, recording/monitoring and practice. I have owned Koss Pro4A, Stax SR40 Electrostatic, Senheiser HD424, and AKG K240. Those were all great headphones and the ATH-50x are as good as any of them. I highly recommend them if clean natural sound is your goal.
Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Good Bass, Good Value, Great Sound
