Summary: i have owned the ath-m50's for 4 years now and damn i feel old, but the sound quality and the durability still shocks me even today. i am even still using the original ear pads that came with it and they havent even cracked, ripped or anything. these headphones made me an audiophile and i love every bit of it.
Pros: The best audio quality for its price. They even match the specs of some audiophile headphones that go for $800+. crisp highs and mids that are very clear and precise. deep and clear bass that doesn't drown out the highs and mids. Crazy durable. if you are debating about getting beats by dre please shoot your self, but that argument is for a different review. you dont know quality until you try these on a good sound card like the xonar stx. they are extremely comfy and...
Cons: i didnt get the coiled cable. i hate running over the wires with my computer chair. but so far no rips or tears in the cord.
Summary: Great headohones, I bought them two days ago from NCIX, they shipped that night and then were on a truck for an entire day they next day, never got delivered, Purolator was full of excuses, DONT SHIP WITH PUROLATOR. I went and picked them up today and they were full of attitude. BUT, the headset is immaculate, Great packaging, great build quality, there is a spring on the jack so it cannot be reefed out of place or broken, comes with a studio jack incase you are using an...
Pros: Great sounds, Great quality, Chunky, but not too big, enough to take a beating, Comfy, noise cancelling without electronics works well.
Cons: Gets very warm on your ears after a while, though with short hair it doesnt matter.
YOU CAN HEAR THINGS U NEVER HEARD BEFORE..indecribable.

Summary: I read reviews of phones w very strong ,rich bass..these won, I looked at others that were twice the cost and these still seemed to have the features i wanted,, the freq specs, good isolation.. I watch a lot of video on the NYC subways and also listen to music, I'm a bass player and have very, VERY picky taste when it comes to low end, and yes, this has that thumping, authentic sounding bass you hear in dance clubs, good rock venues..etc.
Excerpt: I bought these for college to use in my dorm room and studio, and for this they are perfect. They block out ambient noise, but if, say, a fire alarm goes off, you will hear it. They are very portable, at least for full-size headphones, and fit neatly in my backpack with all my other stuff; and...
Excerpt: The Ath-M50 is the aging flagship of DJ headphones off audio-technica's line. Its design is simple, heavy plastics bound with metal adornments and will easy withstand much abuse. Add in some soft quality pads, and these headphones are very comfortable even after long periods of usage. As for the sound quality, you will be pleasantly surprised at how well these perform given their relatively low price point.
Audiotechnica ATH-M50 is great sound for a good price

Excerpt: These headphones are humongous if you've never bought expensive headphones before. As you get into audiophile quality or more professional studio quality, you tend to see more of the larger sizes, and this is no exception. However, much of this size is due to padding, which makes it comfy for your ears and top of your head. It does clamp down a bit for people with wider heads, so stretch it on a few books or a computer tower for a couple days.
