" Incredible" - mr-momu

Audiofanzine
15 March 2013
  • Excerpt: I bought it after testing the 6 headphone € 150 and to be honest this is an exceptional headphone. I rediscovered a lot of songs with it and do not regret my purchase. This is my first headphone but I could compare it with a hi-fi system with very high quality (even if it is not comparable because it is a headphone monitoring) and it was simply ...

" Good headphones but ...." - bENORMUS

Audiofanzine
27 December 2012
  • Excerpt: Following a test published Audiofanzine on, I was tempted by this headset, there are more than 2 years. I was pleasantly surprised by the overall result of this headphone that I have never done anything stupid when I used to mix small phases (hip-hop and electro mainly). Since I use as the Ultrasone Pro 900, which renders really ...

" A real working tool" - romrom78

Audiofanzine
29 November 2012
  • Excerpt: This is the first headphone that I bought and I must say that around two years, it remains the only headphone that I paid, that is to say, even if I have no other points comparison with other models, it good enough for me. to the point where I do not feel so far, no particular desire to change, and, although I regularly buys his gear (or frequen...

"Ear cups feel great" - mrjason

Audiofanzine
24 November 2012
  • Excerpt: The ATH-M50S are great for using while recording; they are very comfortable and affordable costing just over 150.00. The sound of them is clean and crisp but still giving enough low end to really feel the music while you are recording. I did not like using these to mix music with because I could never get a good mix with them. But if you use the...

Audio-Technica ATH-M50

CNET
9 May 2012
  • Summary: The Audio-Technica ATH-M50 Professional Studio Monitor Headphones are among the best available for less than $200, offering excellent sound and build quality.
  • Pros: The Audio-Technica ATH-M50 Professional Studio Monitor Headphones offer excellent build quality and very detailed, balanced sound with tight bass. They're also very comfortable and are a relative bargain.
  • Cons: There's no integrated microphone for making cell phone calls; the bulkier design makes them less suitable for mobile use; and the headphone cord isn't detachable.

"Excellent" - Jon Clarke

Audiofanzine
5 May 2012
  • Excerpt: To my ears this is the best pair of headphones I have ever used. You can absolutely mix with these. They are not audiophile phones in any way. Try mixing something with these and compare with a mix from your normal set up. You will probably be quite surprised. At $150.00 there is nothing better.

Audio Technica ATH-M50

Gadget Guy
30 April 2012
  • Excerpt: Most headphones and earphones are designed with some kind of bias to their sound profile. Usually heavy bass, for rockin’ tunes. Studio monitor headphones, on the other hand, are careful to reproduce an audio signal exactly as it is supplied by the audio device. For certain kinds of music, and certain kinds of listener, this is desirable – even essential. Audio Technica offers this set at a fairly reasonable price, and with good results.
  • Pros: Precise audio reproduction, Solid construction
  • Cons: Can get hot and uncomfortable

"Doesn't hold a candle to other headphones" - jkessel

Audiofanzine
30 April 2012
  • Excerpt: I was comparing these to a pair of Shure SRH440's and AKG K240 Studios and these came in dead last. While they weren't awful or even exceptionally bad I feel they weren't even in the running compared to the AKG's. The high end on these was ice picky so I couldn't wear them too long without ear fatigue. The low end was flubbier so at higher volum...

" very good sound quality" - newborn

Audiofanzine
28 February 2012
  • Excerpt: I use it for the month of August 2011, I had the opportunity to try two or three other in-store before buying it. I found it more transparent than other models with just the right amount of low frequencies and good frequency range of 15Hz to 28 kHz. I mainly used to mix and make prizes of sounds because even at high...
