Summary: I've auditioned the mdr-1r and dt1350, owned the ms1i, dt770pro and hd448. this headphone beats them all imo. Mdr-1r comes close. Also, many people claim that this headphone are even better than the momentum. do give em a shot.
Pros: beautiful, price, and uh oh the mids... most beautiful mids i've ever heard
Cons: stock pads a lil uncomfy. but it do get better in time.
Summary: I purchased these upon recommendation of a friend who has never led me wrong. And he hasn't with the ES700s.
These imports make me wonder what else is going on across the Pacific! The sound is very accurate, yet fun enough to plug into an iPod.
While looking into a new closed portable, I came across a discovery thread created by Dsnuts. Having owned several other AT portables in the past -my first foray into decent headphones being their ATH-FC7-, and being frustrated that I never got a pair of ATH-ES7, the ES700 were really tickling...
Pros: Excellent bass response, lush mids and tamed highs; remarkable build quality; made in Japan
Cons: Uncomfortable after an hour of use; funky headband; availability
