Excellent Alternative for Bose Quiet Comfort 15 or 3
31 March 2013
Summary: My wife asked for the Bose Quiet Comfort 15 for her birthday. I'd never heard a pair of active noise cancelling headphones but we travel a lot and the drone of jet engines is a nice thing to escape so I was curious. When I received it, I opened i up and tested it out.
Pros: + Great sound, + Noise canceling is excellent, + High quality construction, + All you need accessories included, + Case is very durable
Cons: - They make my ears sweat, - Headphones are not very convenient to transport because they are so big
Summary: I've tried several noise cancelling headphones - these seem to offer the best balance of noise cancellation with awareness of one's surroundings. I personally do not want a headphone that will completely eliminate external sounds - I want to know if someone is trying to get my attention, but I also...
Pros: Noise cancellation is excellent for removing aircraft engine sound, mutes but does not eliminate voice sound
Cons: These won't eliminate all external sound - they simply eliminate more constant sounds, like jet engines. People trying to get your attention will be able to get your attention.
Summary: I haven't used any other noise cancelling headphones, so I don't know how these compare, but I am happy with their performance.
Pros: Watching movies on airplanes used to be painful. These things cut out enough of the background noise that I can hear the movie with the volume set at a reasonable level. They also work well with an MP3 player on crowded buses, and such.
Summary: Sound reproduction is excellent. Unlike some other noise cancelling headphones, there is none of the feeling like you're listening to music inside a tin can.
Pros: I've owned this pair of headphones for about three years now. I bought them when I started flying a lot on business and I kept seeing the Bose headphone demos in airports. I tried the Bose and was impressed enough to want a pair, but couldn't get past the massive price tag. So I did some quick re...
Cons: These headphones favor the lower frequencies a bit, but if you like bass (who doesn't?) you'll not mind at all.
Summary: As others have said, they are great for noise cancelling headphones in this price range. Their audio quality is quite good for your average user. There is a slight hollow/lack of bass when the noise cancelling is on, just something to be aware of.
Pros: Relatively cheap noise cancelling option. Fit relatively well. Noise cancelling works, quite well. Cable comes apart from the headphones, so if you snag it, the cable just pops out, instead of ripping from an integrated end.
Pros: These are solid and comfy. Build quality feels better than Bose. Good sound (I had to the EQ on my laptop a bit, but the sound is great) Noise cancelling is good Included battery and accessories Side NOTE: For some reason when Noise Cancelling is ON the audio sound gets amplified, as well as havi...
Cons: When noise cancelling is ON you lose a little bass
Pros: I received these headphones as a birthday present from my parents, purchased through Circuit City (when it was still in business) so that tells you I've had them for a while, maybe 3 years at this point. I have always taken good care of them, and kept them in the storage case they came with (whic...
Cons: None for me, I have been incredibly happy with these headphones.
Summary: These are some great headphones for the price, and they come with adapters for your iPod or an Amplifier as well as a AAA battery to put into the headphones for the noise canceling. The battery lasts for 40hrs.
Pros: Great Noise Canceling, Very Comfortable to wear, great sound.
Cons: Kind of put a little pressure on the top of your head, but it may be because I've been having lots of headaches recently. Also, with the noise canceling off, the overall sound is slightly muffled. The bass doesn't 'thump'; however, it is very clean and clear.
Summary: worth the money, oh and as always newegg delivered as promised.
Pros: This is absolutely an amazing piece of hardware. You will never listen to music the same again. Once you flip that noise cancel switch and play one of your favorite tracks......you will fall in love.
Cons: You don't look real stylish but hey who cares you can block out the world with these babies, great for a stress filled day or just plain ole sound quality.
Summary: The Bose has slightly deeper bass. I prefer these ones because I don't like to be overwhelmed by base, but some people might prefer the Bose. If you think it might be you, then try them side by side. The ear cups are a little on the small side.
Pros: Excellent Noise Cancellation. I have tested these side-by-side with the Bose2 noise cancelling. These perform as well if not better for noise cancelling. The sound quality is excellent. I like the detachable cable - I put these on during a 3 hour flight and totally fell asleep. I highly recommend...
Cons: The detachable audio plug is small and delicate. I broke mine on the airplane when I leaned against it. Fortunately it is detachable and replacable, but it is very slender where it plugs into the headphones and it was a little difficult to find a replacement. Just something to be aware of.
