Summary: For people who want to suppress unwanted noise (like the drone of jet engines) but have little space (like the seats in coach-class jets), this little sucker is for you. It cuts out almost all outside noise, can plug into i-pods or airplane movie jacks and give you crystal clear sound. The single AAA battery that drives it lasts much longer than the double AAA batteries that I used to use with my Brookstone sound suppressors.
Summary: Very compact for travel. Does good job of minimizing airplane hum. Sound quality good for earbuds but not audiophile quality. Very compact compared to conventional headphones. You can carry them in your pocket.
Pros: Comfortable, Compact, Good Value, Lightweight
Summary: After using this same product on a long plane ride, I bought this for my wife's iPod Touch, so we now have matching headphones. These cut out most of the engine noise, and have a convenient button to push to momentarily cut off the noise-cancelling when the stewardess asks you if you want peanuts or pretzels.
Pros: Comfortable, Compact, Durable, Good Bass, Good Value, Great Sound, Lightweight, Stylish
Summary: I bought this specifically for its noise-canceling function on airplanes. As other reviewers mentioned, there is a distinct hum/buzz sound when using the noise-canceling in a quiet place (like at home). I had a bit of a problem with the earbuds becoming dislodged if I moved around too much. However, I haven't tried the other sizes of earbuds yet, so maybe I can fix this in the future. They aren't super-comfortable, so at home or working out I would not likely use these.
Pros: Comfortable, Compact, Good Value, Great Sound, Lightweight
Summary: The sound quality is not the best. It's too bright with not much bass. I need to shove the bud far into my ear canal to get any decent bass. Even though it comes with different ear bud sizes, it was hard to find one that was comfortable. I take the subway in NYC and the noise cancelling does not work well at all. I had a cheaper pair of noise cancelling headphones and they worked much better.
Pros: Durable, Lightweight
Cons: Cord Too Short, Falls Off/Out Of Ear, Poor Sound, Too Much Ambient Noise, Uncomfortable
Summary: I haven't tried it yet on an airliner, but the noise-cancelling feature seems to work pretty good. My wife doesn't typically yell at me, but that's a requirement when the noise-cancelling feature is turned on. One nice feature is a 'monitor' button to turn on/off the noise-cancelling so the yelling becomes more noticable.
Pros: Comfortable, Compact, Good Bass, Good Value, Great Sound, Lightweight
