  • Summary: but Walmart REALLY should get in the habit of posting valuable specs. not just the cord length and driver diameter, but frequency response (which can take many google pages to find) and max input power, so you don't try jacking the power on your computer with an inferior set of headphones... Anyway, these awesome headphones have a response rating of 5-40,000Hz, and input power of 2 Watts (2,000mW). Compared to the BEST of the 'average', 10-27,000Hz, and 1,000mW.

  • Summary: Comparison Review: ATH-A9X, ATH-A900X, AKG K550 Edition 2   I have decided to update this review, not only because I've spent some more time with both the K550 and the A900X, but because I found frequency response measurements for both of them on Golden Ears. I know not everyone likes the way they measure, but since there are no professional reviews of A900X other than on DigitalVersus, and since you shouldn't compare measurements taken by different websites/reviewers, I...
  • Pros: Detailed, sparkly treble. Warm, engaging mids. Good sound stage and positioning.
  • Cons: Bass too boomy and not linear enough.

  • Summary: Sound Treble: The treble is awesome. The high notes aren't sharp or sibilant, they just sound effortless. Mid-Range: The midrange is a strong part of the A900Xs. Male and Female vocals sound warm and rich, but don't overpower the treble or the bass. Bass: The bass is tight and controlled. That is not to say its bad, I think its very good. For people who want boomy bass, this isn't for them. But for most people, it has a very nice, controlled, but still full bass.
  • Pros: Huge Soundstage! Great Detail, Clarity, Imaging, and Instrument Seperation. Very Balanced!
  • Cons: Some may not like the fit, others (such as me) find these some of the most comfortable headphones.

  • Summary: I do not have a large head, nor an obscure shaped one.  What I can tell you is that they are by far the best sounding headphone you will get at $99.   They are genre plastic, and do well with many types of genres.   They can be sibilant under poorly recorded / low quality music files using Asian DACs/DAPs.  Under DAPs such as the Zune HD, and the Nokia 808, sibilance is not as common.
  • Pros: Over Ear, Little Clamp, Quality for the price
  • Cons: Little Clamp (For some oddballs :P), Pleathery pads, Wing system

ATH A900X Versus ATH M50 - If Not For Bass, Then Aural Perfectionists Might Find Themselves Splitting Hairs.

Mr. T. White, Amazon
  • Summary: Firstly, trying to say which headphones are better, of these two 'monitor level', audiophile grade, headphones, is a bit like splitting a hair, and then trying to determine which spliced hair follicle is left with more width. The 'technically' cheaper (remember that it's only because current, imported pricing is artificially skewing the actual difference between these) phones - the ATH M50 are still, it must be remembered, professional grade, monitor headphones.

Fantastic product

Mr Paul Sims, Amazon

  • Summary: Fantastic sounding headphones at a really great price. I never get tired of wearing them - much more detailed than my previous pair which I thought were very good until I heard these - true audiophile quality.
