Summary: I owned the original A900 for many years, it was a fantastic pair of headphones. After they was stolen I ordered the A900X from AudioCubes in Japan, slightly nervous because I'd read of problems with the new 3D wing system.
Summary: Classic case of you get what you pay for. 100% satisfied in all aspects. Decided on audio technica after plenty of positive feedback. Turn up the volume and it absolutely pumps. Crystal clear representation.
Summary: but Walmart REALLY should get in the habit of posting valuable specs. not just the cord length and driver diameter, but frequency response (which can take many google pages to find) and max input power, so you don't try jacking the power on your computer with an inferior set of headphones...
Summary: Everything from the build to the sound quality is top notch. Hell, even the box it comes in can be used as a sort of carrying case - strong cardboard and the headset won't rattle around inside.
Summary: The Audio Technica ATH-A900X's are truly Audiophile grade. The response is flat, whilst the sound produced is warm and lively. Sound isolation is superb, with instrument separation and a large sound stage being two key factors that really make surround sound experiences truly immersive.
ATH A900X Versus ATH M50 - If Not For Bass, Then Aural Perfectionists Might Find Themselves Splitting Hairs.

Summary: Firstly, trying to say which headphones are better, of these two 'monitor level', audiophile grade, headphones, is a bit like splitting a hair, and then trying to determine which spliced hair follicle is left with more width.
Summary: Fantastic sounding headphones at a really great price. I never get tired of wearing them - much more detailed than my previous pair which I thought were very good until I heard these - true audiophile quality.
