Quality for gaming and music

Anonymous, Newegg
8 July 2013
  • Summary: These cans are big. They're not your typical flashy over-ear headphones; They're just not made for travel. Problems I've run into that have not affected anything outside of physical appearence include: the faux leather pads began to shred after seven months though this did not affect comfort (they...
  • Pros: I purchased this pair around two years ago. I can say that these sound equally as great as they did when I bought them (or perhaps after burn in). For the most part this pair of cans is very durable. As far as comfort is concerned, I'd wear these for 12 or more hours at a time with the agitating ...
  • Cons: none if you're aware of what you're purchasing.

Look no further - absolute BEST value for your dollar!

Jackie R., Newegg
7 July 2012
  • Summary: Like any other high quality headphone - remember that these perform best when used with a powered audio jack. The poor reviews indicated thus far seem to indicate poor performance, I can assure you when these are properly powered - they are awesome.
  • Pros: After researching specs and listening/reading endless reviews, I took the plunge and I have to say without reservation, these headphones are awesome. The sound stage is excellent. While they are not noise cancelling, they comfortable cover the ear with the closed cup design and their innovative h...
  • Cons: Only con I can see at this point is that I see they are currently deactivated - I hope they are bringing them back because these are that good - yes good enough to venture elsewhere if Newegg opts to not carry them.

Incredible headphones

Kyle K., Newegg
14 May 2012
  • Summary: If you are looking for small and portable, you don't want these. I was initially hesitant upon opening the box because of their sheer size. I knew I was getting big headphones, but even then these were still BIG. But despite their size, I can't emphasize how comfortable these are.
  • Pros: Most comfortable things I've ever used. These have great range, and are absolutely amazing at instrumental/orchestral music.
  • Cons: Absolutely huge. Also, bass isn't as impressive as the rest of the frequency range.

HOLIE S H * T

  • Summary: Quit reading these reviews. ORDER.
  • Pros: Wow. For the money, beats the cr*p out of Dre Beats. These were so high quality I felt the need to write the review. NICE BASS: I have heard better, yes, you probably will have too. I would say I've only heard better bass on Car Stereo, Home stereo, and a $700 pair of headphones (not mine.) So ye...
  • Cons: I had 4 Guinness's at the bar right after these arrived.....almost fell asleep at the bar because the headphones were cuddling my ears. So comfortable I could have passed out. They are kinda big....where do you expect the good sound you get coming from? SUPER COMFORTABLE. DO NOT ORDER IF YOU DO N...

Jonathan A., Newegg
13 April 2012
  • Summary: I've had these headphones for over a year now. The ear pads just wore out and I bought some new ones. These things have great sound clarity and I love listening to music with them. I don't claim to be an audiophile, but I couldn't imagine headphones sounding much better.
  • Pros: -Rich sounds -Awesome Construction -Comfortable headband -Replaceable cushions -Braided chord -Over ear fit
  • Cons: -Base isn't outstanding, but substantial enough

Fantastic Extended Usage Cans

Matthew O., Newegg
8 April 2012
  • Summary: Overall these are some of the best general purpose headphones on the market. If you can get over the fact that these require buying a headphone amplifier to run properly than these will be a fantastic purchase.
  • Pros: Thick cloth braided cable (hard to tangle) Definitely built for people with large heads as these don't have significant clamping force. These headphones are fantastic for the price and personally trump the ATH-M50 in terms of enjoyment. It retains that treble sparkle which is rarely found in head...
  • Cons: Build quality is all plastic with metal studs for connecting points. This is more of a personal gripe since this is done so they can retain the light-weight feel and the sound-stage. THESE REQUIRE A HEADPHONE AMPLIFIER. This isn't a con, but nobody on here seems to be aware that these Need amping...

Hurry!

Trent G., Newegg
5 April 2012
  • Summary: If you are on the edge, don't be! These are incredible! HURRY! As someone who never used to just sit at his computer and listen to music, that is EXACTLY what I enjoy doing now.
  • Pros: AMAZING SOUND! Perfect amount of bass (Especially for gaming) Extremely light weight. Long chord. Soft on the ears. Easy to forget I am wearing them
  • Cons: HURRY! These have been discontinued from Audio-Technica... So if you are going to get them, AND YOU SHOULD, HURRY!

Audio-Technica Ath-A700

Daniel B., Newegg
23 February 2012
  • Summary: I don't consider myself an audiophile, but changing from a microsoft lifechat-3000 headset and H2Audio earbuds is like night and day. Not only do I notice things i never heard before, but the sound is so much tighter.
  • Pros: I just got these and I couldn't be happier. They're lighweight for how big they are, the wing design is a little out there but so far it makes them extremely comfortable. The long cord is great for indoor use and the wrap on the cord seems pretty durable.
  • Cons: The long cord, while awesome, effectively renders them indoor headphone, but they're studio style so what do you expect. I've worn cushier headphones as far as the circumaural padding is concerned, but i'd wager they'll break in with a little use.

  • Cons: Maybe a little heavy on the bass

Best Headphones for the money, period.

Ryan B., Newegg
2 February 2012
  • Pros: These are without question the best headphones in the $100-$300 price range that I have ever had the privilege of strapping on. They are comfortable, lightweight, and amazingly precise. I did notice a bit of a bass improvement after about 100 hours of use. I would recommend these cans to anyone i...
  • Cons: The bass is a tad underwhelming at first for closed headphones, but as I said earlier, the bass thickens up a bit after some burn in time. Other than that, none.
