Excellant Sound Card

John A., Newegg
17 November 2011
  • Summary: Getting back to 'Sandman' review of this card. There was a misprint of this card in the specifications. This card supports Dolby Prologic II and doesn't not Support Dolby Prologic IIx or IIxc. But there isn't such thing as xc according to Dolby Digital.
  • Pros: The reviews say this is an outstanding sound card.
  • Cons: The Asus Xonar Xense is now discontinued. Very hard to find. But if you can find a new one and purchase it, Asus will still support the 3 year warranty of this card.

Great Things!

John A., Newegg
6 November 2011
  • Summary: I haven't purchased this card yet. Still on the Auto Notify list with Newegg. Been over a month now. I check for this card every day. Sometimes twice a day. I hope Asus ships more of these cards out soon before the holidays arrive.
  • Pros: Better in games than Creative XF-i cards as the reviews state. Nice, easy setup of the 5.1 - 7.1 speaker inputs with included extension plug. The headphones are worth more than the card. You get them for free.
  • Cons: I wish Asus would include the optional OP Amps. Or at least offer them on their site for consumer purchase. I can't seem to find them anywhere on the internet. No one carries them.

  • Pros: If your using IEMs or any high end audio setup, this is the sound card for you. Very high signal to noise.
  • Cons: But there is, some noise audio-able from the front connector, I was unable to hear any from the back connector.

Awesomo4000

Jeffrey W., Newegg
22 October 2011
  • Summary: You wont find a better deal for high quality sound card and headset. You wont have any crackling 64bit driver issues You will love the sound the first time, you use the headphones while watching Blu-ray or gaming. !! Important!!
  • Pros: (Obvious perk) !!You get 190 dollar headset (Sennheiser PC350) and 200 dollar soundcard (basically ASUS Xonar Essence STX ) for 299!!!!!! (SoundCard) 1) Excellent Quality build -Nichicon Gold Caps , CS 5381 ADC , PCM 1796 DAC , CS4362 DAC , Opamps headphone/front channels output RC2114D’s , multi...
  • Cons: There are a few minor issues. 1) Smaller heads might have some issues with headphones size. Therefore, not getting a proper ambient room noise damping 2) The software has some minor faults. The EQ is small and oversensitive to bass adjustments.

Amazing!

Brian R., Newegg
8 October 2011
  • Summary: This is probably the best thing I've picked up as part of my new computer build, definitely worth the price - nothing but superior quality.
  • Pros: The ASUS Sound Card is beautiful, in both looks and sound. Excellent sound quality, tested through Harmon Kardon soundsticks and 15" subs. Sennheiser headphones are exceptional quality as well, gaming and music sound amazing. They look awesome, swivel, and are so comfortable when you put them on,...
  • Cons: None!

Excellent!

scott s., Newegg
25 September 2011
  • Summary: There was very little tech knowledge needed to get started with this system, but the software is another story. Take the time to tweak it and learn it and you will not be disappointed. Great work Asus and of course Sennheiser!
  • Pros: The best sound card/ headset that I have ever owned. High build quality and great fit and finish. In the end the sound is what we purchase this system for and the sound is nothing short of stellar.
  • Cons: The price is over the top, but I guess since you get two high quality items it may be considered a bargain.

Really cool toy

Jason J., Newegg
9 September 2011
  • Summary: This is the first sound card I have ever owned, I just wanted to see if there is a noticeable difference between normal onboard audio and a dedicated sound card and there really is!!!
  • Pros: Cool software for the sound card, lots of really good presets for FPSs and Movies. Really cool looking in the case. Comes with all the cables you could possibly need. The PC350s have a really great noise cancelling feature so you feel really immersed in whatever you are watching or playing.
  • Cons: The price tag is intense and I do wish that they would offer the sound card and the headset separately, not that the PC350s aren't awesome! If the motherboards onboard audio is enabled, the card will not work as far as I know as well, but all these things are small.
