Excerpt: I had my eyes on this headset for a while now and managed to purchase it about 2 weeks ago. I am using it with a Creative XFI titanium soundcard and so far I am pleased with it but to be honest I expected a bit better sound quality.
Asus Vulcan ANC: Comfortable, Stylish & Affordable Headset
9 March 2014
Summary: First off I will state that I bought a refurbished headset so this may taint the review slightly but its only fair to mention this point. If you do a bit of research into headsets, a lot of people say to spend money on just a decent set of headphones rather than buy anything labelled with 'Gaming' as the quality will be much better. Personally, I really value the mic being attached rather than having another seperate piece of equipment for My PC.
Pros: Active noise cancelling, Detachable mic, Good Sound Quality, Quality Construction, Comfortable
Cons: Mine Went faulty after buying a refurbished pair - My fault though
Summary: I bought these to go with my new PC I bought as I am a keen online game player, these feel very comfortable on the ears the padding is very good, noise cancelling is excellent, only small gripe is they are a bit heavy on the head after prolonged wear, I think the price is very fair for the amount of quality you get...if only this item was just a fraction lighter I would have given 5 stars.
Summary: I've been using this headset for the past 2 months now and can write that I'm very happy with the product so far. The quality seems good, mic clarity over teamspeak is excellent and the sound is emersive. I use it prmarily for Planetside2 and have no real complaints so far. One thing to note is that I have stopped using the ANC button as it didnt seem to do a great deal and would sometimes cut out the sound in game once activated.
Summary: I love this headset so much, the sound is amazing, and can handle bass very well. Works with anything, had it for a few months now and have had no problems except. The wires can curl up if you don't straighten them out routinely. And I would suggest buying another microphone on it's own because with this headset, the microphone is ok but if you are talking to someone they may hear background noise from it occasionally, it's not the best microphone on a headset I've ever...
Summary: This has got to be one of the best headsets I have ever used. I have it connected to an ASUS DX Sound Card and the sound quality is amazing. I DID have to break the phones in a bit because to start with the sound was quite flat and quiet, but after breaking them in they can go very loud. I made sure to tweak the frequencies on my sound card control panel which I think is always important to make sure you are getting the most out of your headphones.
Summary: Firstly, my expectations were high for this. I had seen some raving reviews and thought the price was just about right. I purchased these as an upgrade from my Creative Fatality Headset. Presentation and unboxing of the packaging was nice. Plugged them in and thought something had gone wrong with mine. Turned out I hadn't plugged the jack into the headset all the way. It was a bit stiff so wasn't aware at first.
Summary: Right where to start. I have purchased 2 of these headsets the original Vulcan ANC and the Pro. They are fantastic Headsets and sound incredible for the price especially paired with a nice soundcard like the Xonar, The pro has a usb Dongle soundcard called the spitfire which is a great little thing especially if your motherboard has bad onboard audio or you are using a laptop. If you are using a soundcard buy the regular version they sound better in my opinion anyway.
