Wireless Happiness

Makinzie N., Newegg
14 October 2011
  • Summary: A longer charging chord would be nice, I am usually on my computer for a few hours and being isolated to a foot and a half leash really sucks. Other than that it was a worthy buy, just be careful about the USB jack.
  • Pros: I was warned against buying this headset mostly due to the fact that it was wireless. But to be honest, they are great, and it was a great deal. Easily my favorite headset by far. The mic was crisp and clear and the feedback was nice, does well with dubstep. :) Also tested the range of these and ...
  • Cons: The fit is a bit tight if you wear these for a few hours, easily managed if you just alternate uncovering one ear or the other, a headset is a headset; its going to be on your ears. After a few months the casing for the USB jack became loose. Either from average wear and tear or old glue on the i...

Great headphones until they broke.

Jason I., Newegg
30 September 2011
  • Summary: Asus won't replace nor repair them after they broke. Not happy with Asus customer support.
  • Pros: The range was excellent, great quality sound and the battery lasted long enough.
  • Cons: Tight around the head, not comfortable after an extended session. Hinge on the ear broke while putting them on.

Battery does not last

Dennis N., Newegg
25 September 2011
  • Summary: I have bought and sold ASUS products for over 15 years and the last few have seen a decline in quality and service to the point that I cannot sell or use their products anymore.
  • Pros: The comfort, sound quality and ease of use on this headset are all quite good.
  • Cons: I am on my second set and they are dead. Battery lasts about 6 months on this one, the first set about 6 weeks. When battery fails it cannot be used even plugged in to USB port. I only used them on Skype a few times a week and I can't find replacement batteries anywhere. I charged them and then u...

Nice, but weak

Kyle S., Newegg
15 June 2011
  • Summary: I normally had the headphones plugged in, but when I needed to get a drink or something I could still listen to music or talk to people on Skype, so the battery wasn't really a problem for me. I had to use another cord, however. Other than the whine, life, and joints, these would be perfect!
  • Pros: Nice sound quality, quiet around others, wireless, comfortable, nice range, good price, nice quality microphone, and swivel joints.
  • Cons: Short charging cord and low quality plastic joints. I've bought two of these and they both broke in the same place: near the swivel joint holding the earpiece up. After about 6 hours of use, there is a very strange electrical whine coming out of the headphones. No idea why, but unplugging them, t...

Mediocre at best

Kristopher K., Newegg
11 June 2011
  • Summary: I have used this headset daily for about 9 hours a day for three months working at home for a remote support desk. The 18" extension was infuriating when I opened it, but I haven't had issues since I put a 3' USB extension cable and it hasn't interfered with the lousy softphone software we're using.
  • Pros: wireless, noise cancelling, cheap, light, easy transport case, cheapest wireless headset on the market
  • Cons: 18" cable to connect to computer (fix with USB extension cable), battery life depletes quickly (about 4 hours new, 2.5 hours after 3 months), headset pinches over long periods of use

The old "not bad when it works" deal

Christophe S., Newegg
28 March 2011
  • Pros: Headphone and mic quality are both in themselves pretty high for the money; wireless.
  • Cons: Uncomfortable; left headphone randomly goes out; headphones finally seem to be going out altogether as all I get now is either a constant loud buzz or significantly quieter regular audio.

Great product, beware rebates

Jason T., Newegg
12 March 2011
  • Pros: The headset works exactly as it says it will. Good sound quality for the money, good range, easy to connect and setup.
  • Cons: My main issue is the rebate, newegg's linked rebate form and website both claim that the purchase could be made up tell 2/28/2011 and still qualify for the rebate. When I bought it on 2/16 and tried to to do the rebate on 2/25 ASUS's website and phone support both said the rebate expired 2/14/201...

Good headphones, fatal design flaw.

Matthew M., Newegg
10 March 2011
  • Summary: Great headphones, lightweight, nice sound, have to RMA after about a month and a half of use.
  • Pros: The usb dongle acts nearly as its own soundcard, replacing any you might have active. Decent range, headphone battery life is decent, sound quality is good. Especially the microphone.. and buttons work ok for skype. Also found that this product is nearly plug and play with ALSA, though you might ...
  • Cons: If you have a high-end sound card, guess what? System will use the headphone's software mix instead of your shiny sound device. Also can be uncomfortable to big heads. Fatal design flaw vs big heads: The headphones are mounted on swivel mounts.. but there's a tiny flimsy plastic half-joint that t...

Not very comfortable.

Christopher F., Newegg
8 March 2011
  • Summary: They are uncomfortable enough for me to knock off two eggs. My old headset was the Plantronics game-com 1.
  • Pros: Good enough sound for me. Easy setup. Price.
  • Cons: Uncomfortable. They could have put a little more padding in these.

Not Circumaural

Stan D., Newegg
8 February 2011
  • Summary: Small, folding, comfortable, ok battery life, just doesn't wrap around my ears like a circumaural headset should. Oh well.
  • Pros: Nice headset for a "supra aural" model, too bad I thought it was "Circumaural" like the page says.
  • Cons: Not circumaural, otherwise pretty nice.
