Summary: Get the Steelseries H Wireless headset. They are about the same price and these guys have some issues. If I charge them up all the way and unplug them from USB sometimes they will not turn off or connect to anything and you have to wait until they die. Horrible issue for such an expensive headset. Also the support for them hasn't been great and other customers that actually have a serious issue say their support is awful.
Summary: After 9 months of use the headset will now no longer stay on when not plugged in and "charging". Even if left plugged in for days the headset turns off after 3 mins of being unplugged. I can then turn it back on, and it will stay on for about 3-4 mins before turning back off again. Not sure if this is a firmware issue (using the latest and have been for months) or the battery has finally died, or the headsets built in "power saving" feature is on the fritz.
Pros: - The headset is very comfortable and fits snugly on the head - Sound quality is great and the surround sound is perfect for FPS games and anything that you play in first person - Mic is great, never have any complaints about quality of sound when on Skype/TS/Vent - Battery lasts a good while (5-6 hours or so) and the headset can be used while charging - Headset has built in power saving feature and will turn off after about 10 mins of detecting no sounds being played
Cons: - Expensive, easily one of the most expensive headsets you can get for gaming - Firmware has not been updated in months, not sure if this is due to it being "perfect" or laziness on the part of Astro
Summary: The sound quality on this headset was incredible, and exceeded my expectations. Playing Call Of Duty I could hear footsteps, and it made it feel like you were really in the game. However, I did have several problems with the headset. The headset would not turn off, had a frequent audio pause, and did not work with the chat adapter (may be the chat adapter). Due to these issues, I will be buying the a40s today with hope that it does not have these problems.
Summary: Ok, so i ordered these about a week ago and got them in. The first time i opened the box i got Astro A40's. I have no clue how they mixed these up but i did get the wrong headset. So i used those just to test them out and i was trying to get away from wires and stuff but i really did like the A40's. So anyways once i noticed i got the wrong headset i reordered these and this time i did get the A50's.
Summary: I got two of these reberbs and I have to say Astro must not run quality control on these puppies before shipping them back out. First they do not charge properly 48 hours and the yellow light that indicates charging is still on. In fact it stays on even after you unplug it. This just started today, and its was the reason I replaced the first set, they NEVER charged properly until the indicator turned the proper red.
It's a good headset overall, but compared to other headsets, the price is a stretch

Summary: As a PC gamer (PC gaming related review), I have been trying to find my idea gaming headset for probably 3 years, I've tried the following: Razer Megaladon Razer Tiamat 7.1 (with Asus Xonar) Logitech G35 Logitech G930 Sennheiser PC360 (with onboard Realtek Card) Logitech G430 Corsair Vengeance 2000 (wireless) Turtle Beach XP Seven's Software/Customization: There isn't any....so...yeah.
Everything was great but the Mic. Quality was scratchy.

Summary: I dont know if this happens on PS3 or Xbox 360, but whenever I talk online, people tell me that the mic is making my voice real loud, which I'm not a loud person, and they tell me it's really scratchy. Other than that, this headset would have gotten a 5/5.
Summary: I highly recommend that you think carefully before buying due to the auto power off. Such a horrible feature that can't be disabled. These are already being RMA'd by me for a refund and I will not be buying any Astro products until they have these serious issues fixed.
Pros: - Great sound, as long as you have a sound card that supports Dolby Digital Live. - 5.1 to 7.1 conversion seems to work very well - They look cool - Super comfortable - Mic is really clear and just feels good - Decent range for 5.8GHz, somewhat limited but that is the nature of 5.8GHz - Having a stand is cool
Cons: - *THUMBS DOWN* This headset has a 'feature' that auto powers the headset off after 5 minutes of no sound coming through them. This is absolutely horrible in the fact that we cannot adjust this timeout. Looked all over the Astro forums and kept seeing moderators post that at this time there is no plans to change the 'feature'. This was a complete deal breaker to me as I am a PC gamer and will have times that I go without sound for 5 minutes and then have to manually t...
Summary: Its an alright headset. Its better than every other one out there, except Steelseries H wireless... Its Not worth $300 though. but the sound quality is good, the chat/mic could be better, its lots of static. I bought these and the steel series at the same time to see which were better, I returned the A50's. The fit is good, fairly comfortable, but you definitely notice them after a night/day of gaming.
