Summary: I was always hesitant about picking up a pair of Astro headsets, primarily because of the price tag. So when I saw a lot of the reviews on here saying the refurbished ones are just as good/new and a hundred dollars cheaper, I took the plunge. I'm so glad I did. YOU WILL TELL THE DIFFERENCE. I've tried virtual surround sound before, I own way too many headphones to count.
Compared vs. Triton AX Pro+ Headphones... Picked A50's, Here's Why
3 weeks ago
Summary: I bought these and a pair of the Triton AX Pro+ headphones to see which one I liked more. I ended up picking the A50's for quality, comfort, and clarity. My home setup was true 7.1 surround sound and works great. The problem is I had to keep my sound turned up to hear everything how I wanted and caused my better half a little loss a sleep so I wanted a change. I did not like the idea of virtual surround, I wanted to have the dedicated speakers. So I tried both of these.
Summary: I love everything about this headest. It is truly a great gaming headest. Could not be happier. But, i do wish the battery life was longer. I am one of those gamers who games for a long time and it lasts a good while but eventually the battery starts to die. I wish the battery was bigger or the charge cable was much much longer so you can play while charging. Luckily for me the charge cable for a Wii U pro controller is the same which was lucky for me.
Summary: Work great on my Xbox one and ps4! (Even though it says Xbox 360). Needed a firmware update first, but that was easy, just followed their YouTube video. Obviously used, but came with all necessary cords and original packaging. Haven't tested battery life yet but it seems okay. These put out amazing sound, even considering their wireless nature. The Dolby surround is awesome. The headphone quality doesn't feel as sturdy as others, and feels kinda plasticy.
... they started to hurt my ears do to the stupid design of the interior ear cup being slanted

Summary: First off i started with the Sony gold headphones unfortunately after am hour they started to hurt my ears do to the stupid design of the interior ear cup being slanted. So i picked up the refurbished astro50s. I gotta admit these things are loud. I mean real loud. And they are clear and do a great job with the dolby surround. I also picked up a pair of turtle beach elite 800s cuz these are the top 2 in the upper tier of wireless headsets for the ps4.
Summary: I have to say this is the first Astro headset I have ever bought. I have previously used wireless first Turtle Beach wireless headset and Triton 720s. I have to say I don't think I will every own another gaming headset that isn't Astros. This headset feels much stronger and more durable then any other headset I have owned. They are built to last. I will be using these for a long time to come. I use these with my Xbox One with the Xbox chat adapter.
Summary: Sound good, are comfortable and easy to use. They aren't as wonderful as people like to say they are, I was still disappointed, but I don't think there is anything better out there for gamers. Trust me. I have several Turtle Beaches...top to bottom, Skullcandy, and Afterglow's. These are the best overall. I just wish they were programable. I think then I could get them to what I'd like them to be. They just come with three presets. Bummer. Good over all.
Summary: Pros: Great sound Easy to set up Compatible with all of my consoles Great fit Cons No bluetooth No line in for audio an mic to support other devices such as phones and iPads No charge meter indicator showing the charge level of the battery No indicator of chat/game volume balance. I thought my headset wasn't working on a few occasions, and it turn out game sound was at 0% and chat was at 100%. No volume level indicator.
Summary: Very satisfied! I have a pair of turtle beach px5's that i bought a while back. Went to gamestop a couple days ago and bought the astro a50's. I love them, way more comfortable, better sound quality, and better design then the turtle beaches. So far def the best headset I've ever owned. If your into gaming and you want a great all around headset, def get the astro a50's.......
Summary: I am having mixed feelings on these headphones. On one hand - they are comfortable and the sound quality is excellent. I'm told the mic is clear and loud. The wireless works well and the build/material quality seems above average . On the other hand the batteries only last 2 hours. Yeah, two hours. On wireless headphones designed for gaming. That said- I'm really having buyers remorse here.
