Great HeadSet then It Wasn't

TMD, Amazon
30 September 2014
  • Summary: Initially these would have gotten 4-5 stars. They were brilliant, but after about 1 to 2 months the sound changed. The mids seemed to overpowered and over-driven, while the highs and lows were nowhere as distinct. After contacting Astro about a fix, It was determined I needed to send them in. I am ok with that provided the turn around is fast and the parts being shipped were limited.

Can't recommend due to two broken sets

Matthew F Powers, Amazon
22 September 2014
  • Summary: If they were made better, I'd give these 4 or 5 stars. But I've owned two pairs and both had problems not long after purchase. The first pair had an issue with one of the drivers in the left side within 2 weeks of purchase. I returned the first for a new set, and now it has problems in one side, with something coming loose inside of it, making noise when I move my head.

Terrible quality control

Dalton, Amazon
9 September 2014
  • Summary: First off five stars for Amazon for quick refund time. On first opening the packing everything seemed in order. Refurbished security stickers were a nice touch. Then I put the headset on. The right ear cup was only attached to the headband by one of the screws, with the headband hole stripped. Opening the ear cups caused the device to somewhat fall apart. It looked like someone had tried fixing it with rubber cement. Either way there was something in there.

Disappointing

Clip, Amazon
21 August 2014
  • Summary: I wanted to wait until I bought a brand new set of A40's before writing this review. I bought these refurbished ones 2 weeks ago and they were just absolutely horrible. The cord to the headset had to be twisted to exactly the right position to get sound from both speakers or else you would only get sound from the right or the left. The mic did not work at all. I tried putting the mic on both sides and neither side worked.

Refurbished headset disgusting and no sound out of right ear

MSV, Amazon
18 August 2014
  • Summary: I bought the refurbished model due to some positive reviews here. The unit came with the original packing materials along with some red tape indicating it was "Factory Refurbished." It also included all of the cables. To be honest, I'm pretty grossed out by the amount of grime and gook on this thing. This headset has seen a lot of use. The fuzz on the earpads are worn down, there are bits of food and hair in the ear cups.
