Summary: Works fine on Mac OSX. Use Audio MIDI Setup.app in the utilities folder to enable 5.1 operation. Rated it low for several reasons: 1: The ear pads are not very comfortable and don't wrap around the ears. Almost like the pads on mine were mounted sideways. 2: The cord length between the headset and control dongle is very short so its either on my lap or hanging off the side. 3: Volume is very loud even with my iMac on the lowest system audio setting.
Summary: My wife seem's to like these even though they nearly blew out her ear drums when they were first hooked up. After several months of use the are finally not clamping her head as tightly anymore but I will say she complain's about their weight. I'd even have to agree with her that the weight after a few hours of use starts to get annoying. But the sound quality is really good.
Summary: These sound great and am very pleased with the purchase. Didn't buy them for gaming or anything other than enjoying music. Good noise reduction and although a bit heavier than I anticipated, they are very comfortable. Highly recommended!
Summary: This may be just me since I have a small head, but when I got this headset less then a year ago and put it on I realised it was very tight and it was uncountable to where for over only 30 minutes. This loosened up a lot in the following months though. Unfortunately too much to the point where they were fall out down and were not cupping my ears all the way. This made the "TRUE" surround sound basically useless. The sound quality was just average.
Summary: It's weird getting use to hearing things behind me. Yup, these really do work. I'm not use to hearing things behind me when I put headphones on. These do it. Even the old analog Turtle Beach 5.1 headphones were not this directional. Those were really good too, but these are so much better! I mean seriously, the sense of audio coming from behind you is really apparent. It's kind of freaking me out.
Summary: These headphones sound great. When put in surround sound mode, you can really tell where things are coming from. They sound even better when put into stereo mode (good for music) The mic also works well. No one's complained about the quality of it. The only major complaint I have is that they're uncomfortable. The cushions are perfectly round, instead of being ear-shaped; so unless you have baby sized ears, your ears will start to hurt after a couple of hours.
GET RID OF THE @#$% FLASHING LED - good headphones
Cindy Dickinson "Cindy in TN", Amazon
11 September 2014
Summary: Well, for a Prime item with my Prime membership, this one took a bit long to arrive... 4th business day. Still, not bad really. I like these so far, on a few hours use. *THE CONSTANTLY FLASHING BLUE LED HAS TO GO!* I expect to tape over or destroy it... but I can't destroy until the warranty is up... so the next few months will see a big piece of tape on my brand new headphones. 1 star off. There is no mute button light.
Summary: Windows 8 owners do not despair! ARCTIC has a driver and these work great. There is true separation from the front to rear - quite useable in location of sound from front to rear. There is a center channel driver - it is very phase locked between earcups so a nice front and center image is produced. The bass is strong and there are game control like vibration devices for sub-bass rumble. The real question is how this can be done in this price range...
Summary: I've been using Turtle Beach 5.1's for a couple years, but they have the same problems as other 'gamer' headsets in this price range: poor sound quality for music and mediocre bass response. I ordered these because they've impressed a lot of folks in other reviews with their sound quality and booming bass that's enhanced by miniature vibrating motors that give explosions and other bass sounds a new and exciting tactile feedback.
Budget headset - vibrant sound, but low quality mic
23 June 2014
Summary: This is an excellent budget headset. When purchasing you should keep in mind that you can't beat the quality for the price point, but that if you're willing to spend a lot more, there are better options. That being said, I'm very pleased with the sound quality. It's easy to fine tune the sound to find a nice mix that works well for the user. The mic isn't the best, but it gets the job done.
