Aliph Jawbone 1 Bluetooth Headset with Noise Shield in Glass Gift Box

  • Summary: I ordered this after reading tons of reviews, which all said the sound is great. I was willing to pay more for that. But the unit would not power up or charge at all out of the box. I read online help about finding the ridiculously placed reset button and found it, reset it but no good. Tried plugging into my PC with USB as their help notes said if the wall charge did not work, try the USB. No joy. ISo I was never able to her if it sounded as great as touted.

Aliph Jawbone 1 Bluetooth Headset with Noise Shield in Glass Gift Box

  • Summary: The JawBone is definitely better than my cheap Motorola Bluetooth. It does very well at noise cancellation and people can hear me far more clearly, even in noisy places. Unfortunately, the device spends a lot of time on its proprietary charger (a shame it's not a basic mini-USB config). The life I'm getting from it is not nearly what was advertised.

Aliph Jawbone 1 Bluetooth Headset with Noise Shield in Glass Gift Box

  • Summary: Reception seems to be good and clear. My only complaint is that the on off button is so small, someone with limited feeling in their fingertips would have a lot of problems with this function. Other than that it is a good design and I have enjoyed using it.

"Huge Disappointment"

bluemouse3, CNET
14 May 2011
  • Pros: Size and weight, ease of pairing
  • Cons: The volume on this woefully inadequate and some of the features are very temeramental. The Noise Assassin feature seldom works and I really cannot hear calls in my car. This has never happened before with any headset.

"It works! Highly recommended."

6ertie, CNET
24 March 2011
  • Pros: Comfortable. Stays put even when wearing glasses. Audio is much clearer, louder due to Jabra eargel cone. Jawbone sits right against the side of the jaw for better audio transmission.
  • Cons: None that I can think of. None yet.

"I wouldn't recommend this headset to anyone"

jonathan Rosen, CNET
24 November 2010
  • Pros: Sound quality is decent.
  • Cons: A2DP functionality is poorly implemented. It loses connection and you can't pause audio from headset. The volume is too low and the sound is tinny. The earbuds work only moderately well. This must be the most overrated headset on the market.

"Noise reductn VG but if falls out again I may stomp it."

jmmailin, CNET
25 October 2010
  • Pros: Voice quality on my end excellent. Voice quality on other party's end incredible. Passing diesels & trains, mind numbing hi volume simultaneous flt announcements in E terminal at CLT airport all a faint, distant noise to person on other end of call.
  • Cons: Over-ear hook increasingly uncomfortable over time. Tried all ear buds & only lrgest does not result in constantly falling out even when barely moving, and that one uncomfortable. Comfort, fit, stability, inferior to Sound ID.
