Excerpt: I use the Q460 for everyday use with my laptop and MP3. I used to have the K450, but it broke down. I loved the sound quality and decided to get the closest thing to the K450, which was the Q460. Indeed in terms sound quality, the Q460 stands in close comparison to the K450, which has excellent sound quality. Note though, I'm not an expert nor am I an audiophile. The design is pretty cool and the padding is quite comfortable.
Conclusion: I recently left my pair of Q460s on a plane and have been sorely missing them. I own many sets of pro headphones in my recording studio and am quite spoiled by them - so when I needed a pair of portable 'phones my standards were already very high. These headphones delivered on all counts; price, quality and clarity w/out sacrificing full-range sound. They are not overly bass emphasized (like the Monster Beats line) but they do have a solid low end.
Summary: There is no doubt that the Q460s are way ahead of alternatives like Beats by Dr Dre, but they are similar in that they don't suit all music types. They're great for Hip-Hop / Rap, Electronica, mellow Jazz and some Rock, but they don't fare quite as well on more acoustic genres.
The upper end of the mids get a little bit pushy on certain vocal tracks and the treble is a bit understated which can lead to a lack of detail and sparkle.
Summary: Yes, it's true, these head phones and the cables are quite delicate. One speaker malfunctioned after 2 months or so, but this was resolved instantly by Amazon's impeccable service. Do I still recomend them though? Yes, very much so, because they sound sweeeet! Balanced, natural and paced. They excell where it's important, the midrange.
Summary: Firstly, i must say i'm sure Quincy is almost deaf by now, so im not sure what he's doing with his own line of headphones. Almost makes as much sense as Dre having his own line of headphones. =P Onto the product, durability is reasonable for such dainty phones, I wouldn't take them out without the case i'll say that, but they've lasted me about a year now through all my bus/car rides.
Summary: I really like headphones great for sound and portability but there are mayor problems with the headphone cables.I have the black and green headphones and within 1 month the cable broke and I had tried to contact akg about this but I did not have the receipt for the headphones as they where bought for me as a present I think they where bought in usa and japan but I had to pay £38.00 for two replacements cables and now they are starting to come apart ,so be aware of this...
Summary: i bought this one 1 week before at that moment i was seriously thought to back this stuff because of rubish sound compare with akg k420. but after i downloaded capriccio(application of iphone) the great sound was made.
Summary: Firstly, not sure what's up with the price from Amazon, they are under 100 in most places. Just got this for travelling and they are very portable, fold into a package that is easily pocketable. You also get a sturdy case that's not too big if you don't want to preserve them better. Otherwise use a sock? You get 1 cable with mic/volume ~1m in lime green (!
