Excerpt: These headphones have a lot going for them but have 2 flaws that can be minor or major depending on the individual. First the good: Great sounding mids, highs. Very clean, technical sound with lots of detail. The AKG 99's are comfortable, lightweight, & easily adjustable. The design is very efficient. Now the flaws: build quality is OK, mostly plastic & might not be rugged enough for heavy studio work. For general home use they're fine. The second flaw is bass.
Excerpt: Iv'e got big ears and these earphones fit inside of the ear cups. That's pretty good for me. If anything, I would say that there is no feeling of suction to help make these headphones sound proof.
Pros: Durable, Easy To Use, Lightweight, Versatile
Excerpt: The first time i listend to a song with these i picked a song I knew i couldnt hear every instrument in. I was amazed without being any louder I was able to clearly make out every eliment of the music. By far a step up from the ordinary name brand headphones I had before this without breaking the bank.
Summary: *note the one I have are the new perceptions not the old ones, not sure if there's a difference other than a logo change*
These cans are pretty under the radar, but if you can get them for a cheap price (I paid 50 bucks CAD for these) and you have an amp or a good dac, then they may surprise you.
They are semi open, but leaks like a open can without the soundstage those types of headphones have. Still pretty good for the price however.
Pros: Very light and insubstantial. Neutral, textured exiciting sound. Loud without amp. Good detail, soundstage and imaging for the price. Minimal design
Cons: tonality is a bit off, leakage, needs amp/good dac to get good sound, ear cups hard and uncomfortable
Excerpt: Nothing special. Kindof a "tin can" sound. not very full at all. okay for regular use but if your going for professional sound its worth it to save up the money and upgrade. I usually like AKG but was dissapointed with this one.
Excerpt: I use these phones for home recording and home personal use. These are amazing for any amateur or beginning artist wanting to record or master their own tracks. The greatest thing about the headphones is their comfort and sound. I seldom notice that i am wearing them and the sound they produce is organic. These phones, however, have a flat sound so i would not recommended them for personal listen as they are missing that punch closed headphones offer.
Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Good Bass, Great Sound, Stylish
Excerpt: I use this product with my M-Audio keyboard and the sound quality from them is pretty amazing.I can wear these for hours without any type of pain around my ears due to the extremely soft cushioning. Maybe if they could reduce the size so they were not so bulky. Streamline the headset and keep the sound quality. It's a minor thing but would make them that much nicer for travel.
Excerpt: This are the best Headphones in the planet. They sound very good. It you need to monitor your mix during a live show this is the best for that price. The most important about this headphone is they are durable.
Pros: Clear Sound, Compact, Easy To Use, Lightweight, Versatile
