  • Summary: I have a set of AKG K240'a and a set of AKG K271's (originals) and I'm looking into buying 6 sets of AKG K44's. I run a home based studio where I record and mix indie bands. In a studio setting there are 3 general uses for headphones and, ideally, you want 3 different types for those uses. Mixing/listening // Vocal booth monitoring // live room monitoring.
  • Pros: In the right setting, these headphones are champs.
  • Cons: in the wrong setting, these headphones are chumps.

  • Summary: Great for the price. I use mine with a Muse TU-20 HP amp and they sound great together.
  • Pros: Very inexspensive nowadays, rich bass.
  • Cons: Plasticky. But hey for £15.... meh

Great sounding headphones at a great price.

  • Excerpt: These are great sounding headphones at a great price. For less than $50 you get sound quality of much more expensive headphones. They are very light weight and comfortable to wear. The feature that makes them so comfortable is the self adjusting top head strap. The ear pads are also very comfortable and keep the great sound streaming to your ears. When I was looking for headphones I did lots of research on many different brands.

Excellent

  • Summary: I bought these a few years ago as a replacement for a TR2000 headset, which I was unhappy with. The K-44's always received favourable reviews in British HiFi magazines and were a reasonable price at the time. I've only ever used them for listening to CW. They're light and comfortable and I've often wore them for very long periods during contests with no fatigue.

Superb!

  • Summary: These headphones are just awesome! Listening to music with them is jaw dropping, but with these, I can hear stations through the noise that are a hard copy on my Boston Acoustics external speakers. My headphones are the older K44's I have owned them for 3 years.

Great value - good enough for most needs.

  • Summary: I bought these for my wife primarily to use on her Kindle HD whilst listening to music or watching Netflix on. The sound is nice and clear, bass is solid and there's no distortion at higher volume levels. They're comfortable for longer listening/viewing sessions as they're quite light weight considering they're full sized headphones. The lead is more than generous.

They're good headphones for this price range

George, Amazon

  • Summary: They're good headphones for this price range. Don't expect anything too sophisticated and you'll be pleased with this purchase. They're quite comfortable and sound with pretty good fidelity. I use them for my home humble recordings on computer and I'm happy with them. After wearing for a while they can get a bit uncomfortable so I take breaks every 15 mins or so and I'm good to go.
