Summary: A few months ago, I got my 13 year old son the AKG K518 DJ LE, based on the listing of the K81 DJ on Innerfidelity's Wall of Fame.
The sound was disappointing. Very heavy muddy bass that overwhelmed the mids. While OK for the price I got them at, this was not what I expected.
Then yesterday, we decided to mod the headphones. The blue tack mod is a popular mod for the AKG K518 DJs.
Pros: Excellent bass response, wonderful mids and highs; very portable
Summary: Hello everyone ill try to keep banther to a minimum, but excuses in advance
I've purchased these cans about 2.5 years ago, to be exact the LE version in yellow with the short cable for 50euros. It comes with a pouch and small-to-big jack adapter. Ive made keywords Bold-Italic to be a bit easier for you to find them. Also if i say something totally inaccurate/stupid please forgive and disregard it.
Pros: Very good overall sound, excellent value, durable
Summary: it's a great over-ear headphone. cost/performance ratio is very high. the bass of the headphone is spcsial stick. but the headphone is a little tight, it feel a little un comfortable when you wear it for a long time.
Summary: I tried the AKG518s in store at Richer Sounds against similar (and more expensive) offerings from Sennheiser- the HD202 and HD218 and AKG451 (which gets rave reviews). I found the sound quality on the 518s much clearer throughout the range on both modern rock and classical, with good bass. My only gripe is that I personally find over-ear headphones more comfortable than on-ear; the 518s feel a bit tight after an hour or so.
Summary: Amazing sound quality, the best headphones I've ever had. Great build quality and materials. The only downside is they feel a bit small on my massive head, but this has got better over time. Still 5* headphones though.
Better Than B-B-B-Beets (The root vegetable and the overpriced headphones)

Summary: Best headphones I've ever purchased. I've been using them for years. The sound quality matches/exceeds (in my opinion) Dr Dre Beats, They don't have that god awful outside sound reduction that ruins the sound quality as well as a giant battery pack attached to the headphone cable. They clamp to your head like a boss, so that cancels out all other sound just fine. You can have these puppies on full blast and as long as they're on your head nobody can hear a thing.
Summary: As soon as I tried a pair of these on that a friend owned, I was sold. The quality of sound, bass, isolation, style, and feel of these headphones, for me makes them the best value for money out there. I used them for travelling and for whilst dj'ing. They are more rugged then they look and were a best friend for my years spent backpacking. unfortunately the cord on my pair was chewed through by a friends jack russel and they now seem to have gone out of productivity.
Summary: Amazing sound quality and good fit options. Slightly annoying when wearing eye glasses, but that has nothing to do with the product! Definitely would recommend these. Really easy to store in their bag due to the swivel ears!
