Summary: I got these phones as a gift, and I am quite happy with the sound quality and comfort. The noise cancelling is also quite good, and can completely eliminate certain frequencies of extraneous noise. Fun playing with the on/off switch to appreciate the difference! I listen to a wide variety of rock and old school 60s jazz, and the phones are quite good for this kind of music. Pad pressure on the ears is about perfect for me, and the pads themselves are comfortable.
Summary: Nice enough headphones. But for the money, I would have expected noise canceling beyond reducing backround hiss. There was no noticeable reduction in noise from others' speech or music playing. These were bought after reading many glowing online reviews, but I thought they performed substantially less than the price would have led one to expect. I returned mine after a week trying them in various situations.
Pros: Good sound, comfortable, not off-putting appearance.
Cons: High price (yes, I think this price is high for headphones even though there are some astronomically priced ones out there), weak noise canceling performance.
Summary: These headphones delivered the sound quality and noise cancelling as advertised. I particularly liked the rechargeable feature but the design of the plastic piece that connects the ear cup to the headband is poor. This plastic piece simply snapped while I was wearing it on a flight. The Crutchfield support team was great and facilitated the return and replacement with another brand. Dissapointed with the product but very satisfied with Crutchfield.
Summary: Like others customers mine broke - after nine months. The plastic bars that holds the earphones are weak and snap easily. The carrying case is wholly inadequate. AKG sent me new replacement headphones by return and when I phoned the UK suppliers it sounded like they were very familiar with the problem. I have been very happy with the sound and noise cancelling but these headphones are not designed to cope with the normal practical demands of travel. A great pity.
Summary: I did some intensive searching on products and reviews for a couple of months before I had made my mind to select this headphones. The aim was to move from some old In-Ear JVC NC headphones to something that could make me enjoy more my travelling I've test those against the Bose QC3 and i, believe that the overall sound quality is very similar and I didn't fell any difference in the NC feature , both are excellent headphones.
Summary: had the Bose QC3 for a few years til they finally succumbed to wear and tear. Before buying a new pair, thought I'd find out if there was any decent competition. Came across the AKG K90s from a couple of very positive reviews on hi-fi sites and they appeared to be the perfect replacement. Having had them a week now, unfortunately they have not lived up to expectation.
Summary: Bought this product after surfing and reading reviews etc of similar products. Delighted when it arrived 24 hours later - love the design and sound quality BUT the headband is TINY and doesnt extend much. So when you have it on, the band is actually "pushing" down on your head - not pleasant (i dont have a massive head either!!) I tried wearing with the band pushed behind the crown of my head, but this is impractical when walking or travelling.
