Summary: Great headphones except they break very easily. AKG replaced two pair already and finally sent me the K495NC model which seems to be much sturdier. Hope the K495NC hold up. Would not waste my time buying the K490NC model as the connection from the speaker to the band is made of cheap plastic and...
Summary: These were decent headphones, although the NC is not especially effective in noisy environments such as aircraft cabins. However, the plastic swivel arm supporting the right headphone cup shattered after less than six months in fairly infrequent use.
Cons: lack of product support , fragility , nc performance
Summary: Noise Cancelling 4-5 stars, build quality poor and disappointing (0 stars). The first can broke almost one year after purchase. I repaired it with some repair express putty - looked ugly but i thought the warranty was over.
Summary: Similar to reviews on the AKG K495, these headphones also have a problem with build quality. Having used the K490's for about 18 months (no falls, rough treatment etc), the left can suddenly sheared off the headband when I was removing phones from my head.
Headphones broke within the first two weeks of use.

Summary: Headphones broke within the first two weeks of use, the earpiece snapped off from the overhead strap. Poor design, awaiting replacement and will revise rating if these do not suffer the same fate
Summary: Build Quality Poor and shocking The headband connects to the ear pieces with thin plastic covering a metal rod and snaps far too easily. This is my second pair which has developed the same fault.
Summary: DO NOT BUY THESE. They sound great and all, but the durability is horrible. Mine broke with normal use, only in the office, and I am very careful with these things. The earpiece is dangling, and is impossible to fix.
