Great headphones, if you get around the cable issue.

AmrAz, Amazon

  • Summary: Overall this is a great product. It's made for using on the go and that's how I've been treating this headphone. I've been using them for a few months now, bringing it with me through long hours on the plane. I love that these don't hurt your ears, I can wear them for hours and hours. However, the downside to the AKG K450 is the cable. The ones that come with it feels relatively cheap. I can see from most bad reviews is regarding this issue.

Neat phones

Ironclad "Ironclad", Amazon
31 August 2014
  • Summary: These headphones are nicely made, comfortable to wear and foldable. For me they are bass-heavy and slightly lacking treble and mid-range but they are well liked by the person they were a present for. Unfortunately the cable broke after six months use, a common occurrence when phones like these are used outdoors, but AKG replaced it without fuss.

These are the best headphones that I have used in that price range.

  • Excerpt: These Headphones are brilliant for the small price you would pay for them. The sound is as good as any more expensive branded headphone that I have used. They are also small enough to be able to carry on a journey or day trip with no hassle, and they sit on your head without any weight. I have had much use out of my own and have found them to be very durable, this is, apart from the detatchable lead, of which there are two in the set.
  • Pros: "Not too expensive", "Quick and Easy to Use", "Great Carry Case", "Great Sound"
  • Cons: "Inside of case clutters easily", "Poorly made cable"

  • Excerpt: How long have you been using? I use this headset for 3 months, for listening to mp3 via my smartphone and my pc. I also use when I play electronic drums. Did you try many other models before buying it? I have not really tried another model. I have an old philipps I liked but that is really beyond ... especially sin...

Pretty Poor Value! (though read the update)

Andre B., Amazon
11 August 2012
  • Summary: The K450's arrived swiftly, one of the only positives you will read in this review! On opening the box I noticed that the longer of the two leads that was meant to come with the K450's was missing. (Which I can only assume the headphones sent to me was a returned item. As I was told by AKG, whom I contacted, that they arrive in a sealed plastic bag! This was not the case for me).

Great Headphones for price

bstaylor97, Dooyoo

  • Excerpt: With these headphones you get what you expect. At the price I payed (£45) they are a fantastic pair of headphones. Fully equiped with a carry case, various cables and 3/4 jack they are definite value for money. The sound is a good quality, is clear and crisp. You get what you expect really. On 'indie' songs the headphones are good, however on songs with strong bass, well, this is their downfall.

Good sound for a good price.

Kurt Adkins, Amazon

  • Summary: The AKG K450's have started off sounding a bit stodgy, but after about a few days heavy listening they've started to open up with a nice deep, but not overbearing bass. A clear mid-range and a nicely resolved top end. They are very comfortable for extended listening (I use them for audio book listening too).

Miguel "Mike", Amazon

  • Summary: I am one of this guys who enjoys music at all time, these are my first AKG, I have many different brands quite good as well but the main difference with the AKG, first of all they are very light and confortable, also the quality is amazing, super strong bass, I had to set a limit to my volume because they were to loud for me, honesty now i'm playing songs that I forgot they were in my iphone, it's a very cool experience I read some bad reviews about the sound, I've made...

Good but not quite there...

Headphone_mad, Amazon
27 December 2011
  • Summary: I must admit these headphones have grown on me. When i first got them and listerned to them i was more that disapointed in the sound. They sounded no better than my px 100's which are more than 1/3 of the price. I then did what i have done with my other portable headphones (audio technica ATH-eS7) and left them running overnight , to which i was still disapointed in the morning in the sound.
