Summary: I've read all kinds of reviews on these headphones. After owning them for over 1 year, I have to say I love them. The fold up design is great, and the case is very durable. I carry these with me every day to work, and traveling. I have not had any problems to date. Build quality is very nice. I was using a pair of Grado S60i, but if anyone knows about them they are great but not portable.
Summary: In sound quality, these things were fair for what I got them for. I paid only [$] The bass volume and extension leave something to be desired, and there's a bit of a treble hump, but I needed something portable and the clarity and instrument separation made me happy enough to deal deal with them. Had I had a chance to try them beforehand, I definitely would've looked into some IEMs instead. In build quality, they're terrible.
Pros: Compact, Fair sound, Lightweight
Cons: Cord Too Short, Flimsy Construction, Poor Value, Uncomfortable
Summary: I wear a pair of these everyday on the tube and they are the best headphones for around town by far. I bought a another pair for my son to go with his new smart phone and cleverly, because of the design, I can't hear the tss tss tss of his rubbish music! Winners all round!
Summary: I thought that I had a perfectly acceptable set of on-ear headphones but having read the reviews for these little beauties, decided to purchase them. I didn't need the microphone facility offered for an extra tenner in the K451's so these were perfect. And just about perfect they are! Brilliant sound - and they're not even "run in" yet. Very comfortable, very portable and look a quality item. Sound is very detailed, punchy and with enough bass. Highly recommended.
Summary: These are great earphones, I bought them over 2 years ago to use commuting by train and for work rail trips throughout the UK. THEY ARE SUPERB Nothing to fault about them, for the price the audio quality will impress all but the most pedantic of audiophiles. Really a great product, after 30 months and hundreds of hours of use they are still good as new. Massively recommended!
Summary: Bought these recently to try out while flying to the USA, previously used Sennheiser PX100 lightweight foldable headphones which sound good but not great at blocking out aircraft noise. The AKG450's seemed a cheap price for an upgrade and Richer Sounds seemed the best price (I didn't want to risk buying fakes from Ebay or some sellers on Amazon) Very pleased with mine, the salesman was helpful in the Brighton store and I'm pleased with the 450's - good sound, better than...
Pros: fair build quality , decent sound reproduction , folds up for travel and has a case , 2 x detachable cables supplied
