User Review

  • Summary: I purchased these as a gift to myself to keep in the office. I run them via the cheap Nu-Force DAC and listen for hours per session.    Overall I would say these are amazing cans. They are very neutral, and because of the semi open design (I'm assuming) they sound pretty wide. Bass is decent, but they don't thump. So if you're into that look elsewhere. I probably have 1500 hours on them and I can say that i was never uncomfortable wearing them.
  • Pros: Comfortable, Semi-Closed, Durable
  • Cons: Cord, Heavy

  • Summary: I've had these headphones for a week now and they are burned in. The stage, separation and detail are incredible with these headphones. The bass is true, it is not added to in any way. I am going through my entire collection again and just loving it, I'm hearing detail I've not heard before. Thoroughly recommended.

" A good investment"

18 March 2012
  • Excerpt: I use it for 3 months. I tried few other models (the ones that interested me were not available near my home or not listenable in store, too bad): a Sennheiser HD25, who squeezed my head too much, another version of sennheiser " DJ "shook that much and also gave her a too narrow, a Shure SRH-240 already more comfortable, but that does no...

Detail, detail and more detail...

  • Summary: If you need better than this, then you either have money to waste or you belong to the ranks of world's top sound engineers... I have mid range Yamaha floor standing speakers, and matching quality hi-fi equipment (all together worth some 2000 euros) and yet, for some music, it felt as if i listened to it for the first time ever, hearing bits and pieces i missed on a sound system that most people never know it existed at all.

  • Summary: basically these are the best headphones i have ever owned im my lifetime. although i wouldn't recommend them for strictly bass obsessed users. never the less the sound quality is just amazing, the high pitch sound levels are perfect with no distortion. believe it or not ive herd things in my music that i have never noticed before. and if your still worried about the bass just use an amplifier ... overall highly recommended !!

" Formidable"

Alayan, Audiofanzine
5 January 2011
  • Excerpt: That is less than a year that I have this headset is great, he plays really well respected and he also does not hurt the ears, it can easily be 6 hours without pain and when we feel it is removed even a lack! Although it is open it is pretty well insulated. I use it for recreation and for monitoring and in 2 it can really deliver. ...

Growing on me

David P., Amazon
23 March 2009
  • Summary: I was looking to upgrade my current Beyerdynamic DT 231 headphones for a more expensive pair. The headphones were destined for office use so they had to be closed/semi-closed so the sound didn't leak too much. In my current setup, the headphones are connected to a Project Head Box MKII headphone amplifier with a Creative X-Fi Music soundcard as the source. No hi-fi store I visited stocked anything other than Sennheiser and Grado headphones.
