Impressive Headhpones

  • Excerpt: I just got the K181s last week and I'm trying them out at a gig tonight. From my one week with them I have to say I'm pretty impressed. The clarity from these headphones is great. You can hear the tracks your mixing with precision, and when only one source is playing it sounds as good as headphones this price should. The sound isolation is great and I think they'll do well tonight in a noisy club atmosphere to allow me to hear what I need to.
  • Pros: Clear Sound, Compact, Easy To Use, Lightweight
  • Cons: Questionable resilience

  • Excerpt: as a dj for years i have had many headphones some wore out and some stolen, non compared to the sound quality and comfort of the k181. from home studio to 50000+ watts dubstep to rock these are as crisp as you can ask for. hittin those basslines and keeping the highs undistorted all in one package. pricey but money well spent. B&H great website [...] i also give them 5 stars!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • Pros: Clear Sound, Compact, Easy To Use, Lightweight
  • Cons: Bulky/Heavy, Weight does show quality

Great Sound, Great Feel, Superb Isolatio

Baseband, Abes of Maine

  • Excerpt: These headphones sound incredible, and have a great bass response. The Large/Small club setting helps to kick the bass up a bit more for matching. Mono/Stereo switch is a nice touch too. The fit can get a bit snug, but that happened for me after a few hours on a flight. During normal "dj uses" they feel great. Very easy to whip around as well, very versatile. Really great buy.
  • Pros: Clear Sound, Durable, Easy To Use, Good bass, Versatile
  • Cons: Bulky/Heavy

  • Summary: The 181djs are the best. I've been a dj for 10 years. An audiophile/fanatic for my whole life. Aside from what I've listed as headphones I own or have owned, I've also been thorough a number of half a grand iems and 10 pairs of the most worn dj headphones. I got the dj 181s three years ago. Since then I've been through too many headphones, and have always returned back to the 181s. Whether I'm mixing or listening to music, these do it right.
  • Pros: Amazing sound in all frequencies, hard to distort at full volume
  • Cons: No one knows these headphones

  • Summary: I have the AKG K181DJ and LUV them, they are fun you feel the music like listening to speakers and a sub, wow!!I Have Senn 555,could hear every flaw. Its kind of like driving a corvette, you can feel every piece of gravel in the road, i would rather enjoy and feel the music instead of looking for technical flaws.

  • Excerpt: These headphones are amazing. They have a dead bass that will blow you socks off. These headphones are ideal for Djs because they ear padding can rotate 360 degrees. The best thing is probably the bass. Its awesome. you wont be disappointed.
