The Samsung Highlight is a quad band GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 MHz and dual band HSDPA 1700 / 2100 PDA that sports a 3 inch WQVGA, 16 million color support display screen with TouchWiz UI interface packed into its 108 x 54 x 14 mm / 105 g form factor. The smart phone features internal antenna, Touch Screen navigation and is powered by a lithium-ion battery. The phone also supports memory expandability via microSD / TransFlash, a 3.0 megapixel digital camera with zoom and Video Recorder capabilities, an MP3 Player that supports MP3, AAC, AAC+, eAAC+ and WAV file formats, speakerphone, 240 x 400 pixel wallpaper and screen savers, MP3 ringtones, themes, J2ME games, and MPEG-4 / H.263 / H.264 / 3GPP multimedia streaming. The PDA also supports SMS, MMS, EMS and email (POP3 / IMAP4 / SMTP) as well as AOL / Windows Live / Yahoo! chat with T9 predictive text support. The Samsung Highlight (T749) also supports a calendar, To-Do List, WAP 2.0 (HTML / Yahoo OneSearch / web2go) browsing, Voice Commands and a calculator. Connectivity is via Bluetooth® 2.0 (A2DP / BPP / FTP / HFP / HSP / OPP / SPP protocol support), HSDPA high speed data transfer, GPS TeleNav and USB 2.0 for PC synchronization.

Released for T-Mobile, the Samsung Highlight T749 is a full touch screen phone with Web browsing capabilities supported by T-Mobile’s 3G network. It has a built-in 3.0-megapixel camera with video capture that allows users to capture images and videos and share them with friends and family, a music player for listening to music downloaded or synchronized into the phone on its microSD card with up to 16GB of removable memory, Web access with a personalized home page, fast search results with Yahoo OneSearch, access to live news feeds with the web2go widget, and access to T-Mobile downloads including the latest ringtones, games, wallpapers and applications. The Samsung T749 Highlight is a social mobile phone with email and support for AIM, Windows Live Messenger, Yahoo! Messenger. The on-screen full QWERTY keyboard allows users to send text or chat with friends. Other features on the phone include Bluetooth with A2DP to allow users to listen to music privately via a paired Bluetooth headset. The Highlight is available in two colors - Fire and Ice (black on blue and orange on red) for US$149.99 with a two year contract.
