This device is made to be as simple as possible, while being very useful.

Summary: It is a great device overall. It is designed for people that are not familiar with PDAs, and includes a small digital camera for taking VGA resolution images that can be saved to a SD card for uploading to the computer or social networking sites.
Summary: This is the third Zire 71 I have had. I keep wearing them out. Yes, it's old school, but I go with old school with reason. 1) It's PALM operating system never crashes. Even on those occasions when I have let the battery go completely dead, I have never lost a single bit of data. 2) It does not connect to the internet. Therefore, it is impervious to an kind of cyber attack. I suppose these two points really sum up into one good solid reason for old school technology.
Summary: I bought the Palm 71 because is the best to keep my personal information on hand. Today I can't find any thing similar. It was a fast transfer of files. I had on of those. It was almost like new.
Summary: I bought this unit as 2nd hand. I understand that, but from the start, I could not sync the unit to my computer. I don't know if this issue is unique to the Palm 71. I have had a Palm Zire 21. and had no problem. I purchased a new (used) Zire 21 and have no problems. other than this issue, I like the Photo feature on this unit. but that is the only thing I like. I wanted to set my default calender view for the Month, the P71 could not do that.
Summary: I've had Zire 72s beofre and thought this woudl be very close to that. VERY WRONG. There is no camera, no ability to use wifi, and neraly impossible to get updated software. Teh charging cable is clunky and very brittle. It comes undoen easily and the tips break off, rendering it useless. This may work for a first time pda user, who doesn't know any better.
Summary: Just great device, first time i bought this pda instead of a paper notebook, the battery does not holded a charge, but it was perfectly replaced with nokia 850mAh bl-5c and another with bl-6 which is 1150mAh!!. Bought another one for my father, now he plans his day just with Zire71, These small toys are able to control all household appliances via infrared channel by NR Deluxe software,i also set up Photoshop CS5 to execute commands instead of pressing hotkeys, work has...
Summary: I have been using the Palm Zire 71 as a PDA since 2004. Although the camera is outdated compared to today's smart phones, the data management capability remains an important part of my daily use. I am continually replacing and upgrading my cell phones, but I may continue to use my Zire 71 for many years to come.
Summary: I'll try to be simple and short. The Zire 71 is the model I've used the longest and it took me a long time before I decided to look of an upgrade (Lifedrive with CF upgrade). The pros are too many to list them all. From playing games, to taking notes, to the handy camera, to watching movies or listening to music, this decide does just about everything. Why I upgraded is more due on a whim to a fantastic price on a Lifedrive that I decided to give it a try.
Summary: Like it a lot however my XP computer crashed and had to buy a Wiindows 7 and that doesn't support the pda. Palm hasn't made a driver for it. Enjoyed it for the short time I could and will hopefully be able to sync on an older computer that I have. Had to use the Zire 31 coupled with the Zire 71 to get it to sync.
Summary: I bought this item as a lark. I was actually pricing them because I got a wireless keyboard at goodwill and wanted to research the products associated etc. This PDA is relative outdated, and most of the functions are no longer able to be utilized. (ie the modem is very old and the links are outdated to have the item use the modem functions.
