Summary: I really enjoyed the Palm TX, but it had a couple downsides. The battery is not replaceable by me. I also don't like Palm's OS as much as Windows mobile, there's a lot less apps (free ones) for it. So I gave it to my dad and bought the iPAQ 111. I do miss the very nice screen of the TX, though, as well as a few features that it had that I really liked (such as opening right back up to whatever app you were using when shutting it down.
Summary: I have mixed feelings about the Palm T/X. I have it working perfectly now after a good deal of hacking. I have been using Palm ever since it originally came on the market. The apps for which Palm is known for (calendar, todos, etc.) work great. Documents To Go (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) work great. Pocket Tunes (music, FM Radio, etc.) work great. Battery life is excellent. Wifi is excellent. The screen is good. Now for the bad things.
Summary: Nice to have a palm pilot with a bigger screen. My eyes are getting weaker and it really helps. Very fast processor. The bluetooth is a bit limited. I can hot sync without cables pretty quick. However, could not get my nice Motorola bluetooth headphones to pair with the TX. Some things just won't pair. THe Blazer browser is pretty weak. Cannot get any you tube videos. Can't get much videos at all. Pretty much do not use it at all as a web browser.
Summary: I decided it was time for an upgrade from my Z22 to a palm pilot with more features. First I bought a Tungsten E2 at an on-line store and it turned out to be defective. I returned it and got my money back and went to a local Best Buy and bought another one. It too turned out to be defective. Both of them had the same problem. They would not respond to the stylus when I'd 'click' on an icon. Sometimes I'd click on one area and another program would open.
Summary: The hard case is nice looking. It is difficult to open and I am sure after a significant amount of use it will stop working. It is awkward to try to hot sync while it is in the case. It is hard to tell the front from the back but the Pilot will only go in the case in one direction.
Summary: It crashes all the time. Its really annoying. Also, sometimes its really hard to make it read whatever i input - it doesnt reply to the touchscreen.
But, i guess it is ok. Better than nothing.
