Almost perfect.

W. S. Kennell, Amazon
18 September 2009
  • Summary: I really enjoyed the Palm TX, but it had a couple downsides. The battery is not replaceable by me. I also don't like Palm's OS as much as Windows mobile, there's a lot less apps (free ones) for it. So I gave it to my dad and bought the iPAQ 111. I do miss the very nice screen of the TX, though, as well as a few features that it had that I really liked (such as opening right back up to whatever app you were using when shutting it down.

mixed feelings

James Hedgespeth "Jim Hedgespeth", Amazon

  • Summary: I have mixed feelings about the Palm T/X. I have it working perfectly now after a good deal of hacking. I have been using Palm ever since it originally came on the market. The apps for which Palm is known for (calendar, todos, etc.) work great. Documents To Go (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) work great. Pocket Tunes (music, FM Radio, etc.) work great. Battery life is excellent. Wifi is excellent. The screen is good. Now for the bad things.

Fast but limited

Don Fernandez "Predator", Amazon
19 October 2008
  • Summary: Nice to have a palm pilot with a bigger screen. My eyes are getting weaker and it really helps. Very fast processor. The bluetooth is a bit limited. I can hot sync without cables pretty quick. However, could not get my nice Motorola bluetooth headphones to pair with the TX. Some things just won't pair. THe Blazer browser is pretty weak. Cannot get any you tube videos. Can't get much videos at all. Pretty much do not use it at all as a web browser.

Potentially a winner. practically a disappointment

  • Summary: Packed with features... displayed on a bright, sharp screen.... but what good is all this when you have a piece of unreliable tech in your hands? And this is what characterizes my TX. After 6 months I still find it anything but intuitive to use and prone to more crashes than a penny stock. It almost makes me yearn for my previous PDA, powered by Windows...

Inconsistent

Joe Guy "joe_guy", Amazon

  • Summary: I decided it was time for an upgrade from my Z22 to a palm pilot with more features. First I bought a Tungsten E2 at an on-line store and it turned out to be defective. I returned it and got my money back and went to a local Best Buy and bought another one. It too turned out to be defective. Both of them had the same problem. They would not respond to the stylus when I'd 'click' on an icon. Sometimes I'd click on one area and another program would open.

  • Summary: I am still trying to struggle through the set-up of the Hotsync manager. This was not addressed in any detail and so far I have been able to gain only limited use of the hotsync. When I initiate the Hotsync, only parts of the calendar, notepad, etc upload. Most do not.

Decent Product...

  • Summary: Decent product but lacks some features that are available in cheaper models. This model can also be bought other places cheaper. I should have done some further research before I purchased. But, it's still a good item.

  • Summary: When trying to set the Palm up it had all sorts of weird things in it which we could not get past. We had to call the Palm help people and they had to remote the Palm to get it fixed. This was NOT free either. I don't know what was done to it but it was classified as "used" so I guess one has to trust that it still works correctly. Luckily at this time it is working I just hope it continues past the 30 days!
