Very good value for on the move personal data storage
18 July 2011
Summary: Although this is an outdated model, it is still remarkable for its' data storage. The one thing that keeps raising its head in other feedbacks of this model is that it does not have rechargable batteries and that when you replace the AAA batteries, you lose all your data. However the sinc between the Palm 105 and the Pc allows you quickly restore all the data to the Palm 105 from your PC in just a few seconds. Its good for me.
Summary: This is a very good item to protect an address book or other list that can be lost when a computer goes to the blue screen of death. It is an older model but does everything I need. Was able to install the hand held portion of DeLorme Street maps.Palm software installed without a problem. This unit does not have fancy colors or a lot of buttons, but it serves a valuble service.
Summary: I used to have a Palm 100. We use it to transfer CNC programs to our maching centers. The old Palm 100 case broke after 6 years of use. I decided to go with the M105 because of the docking station. Works great!
Summary: The only bad thing this kind of AAA batteries operated palms have, is that due to it's age there is a normal loose in the capacity of keeping your information during battery change, so always synchronize it before you change the batteries!. There is a possibility to solve this problem either change the capacitor or trying to build a rechargeable micro battery system as I saw in the net.
Summary: I bought this because a few years ago my old one died. I had checked into newer ones and they didn't seem to last either. So why spend the money? I got this one it works perfectly, is less expensive. the only thing missing was the software that would link it to my computer, BUT, that is minimal. I can use it freestanding without any problems. I am again on time and have no trouble scheduling appointments.
Summary: Although it is one of the earliest Palm devices sold, it is still highly supported by software makers and solution providers. I use the HandDBase software to create databases and forms for my unit and then transfer the data I collect in the field to my MS Access database (job mileage, customer quotes, billing information).
Summary: They are a gerat orginizer and very helpful with addresses and phone numbers. I have one of the first ones that came out and my wife seen how it worked and wanted one so I bought this one for her and she loves it.
