Summary: This was one of the BEST EVER Pocket PCs when released more than 6 years ago, I got it in 2012 because I missed having it back then due to its insane price, Let me tell you that it Deserves its high price tag very well, from functionality to Speed to the looks, its one hell of a Pocket PC, and after those many years, I still Love it, and its performance can vividly compare to high end mobile phones to date.
Summary: A sad tale: HP 5550 got this pda as an upgrade for my 5450, and i honestly want the 5450 back. I got this device, hooked it up to charge, got it to charge and used it for about 1 day, before the screen turned completely out (lines and some whiteness) and then the status lights at the top kept flashing. I believe this unit to be defective, and have decided to go back to my 5450. I now regret leaving it in the first place.
Summary: This Pocket PC truly has it all! Does everything a normal desktop version of Windows does! For intuitive computer users, it's very easy and natural to learn to use. I love it! You can: check email browse the net save files either to the main memory or to an SD card has many many features and programs. only downside is that the battery drains at a rate of 20% per day even if the device is turned off with no activity.
Summary: For those that require more business applications, this is an excellent unit. It is a little heavier than most units but the extra weight is worth the strong business applications. If you need to sync with Microsoft business applications, this unit will sync up all the Outlook functions plus your own personal files of Word & Excel documents which can be viewed & edited on the IPAQ. It will play music & games.
Ineffective Device since it cannot handle OS upgrade.
26 April 2010
Summary: I purchased this unit because it was the PDA of choice on the international space station. What makes this PDA ineffective, is that it cannot physically handle an OS upgrade. I feel like I wasted $31 dollars, but it is what it is. It will simply collect dust in my garage with the rest of the relics.
Summary: I bought this knowing what it was and expected nothing more because it works for my intended purpose (running linux and kismet with a pcmcia wireless card) however, the average buyer will find this 6+ year old PDA very large, heavy, and slow, and the display looks terrible compared to anything new. You can certainly find better hardware for similar prices.
