Summary: My honest opinion: Pros: i got this pocket pc in a lot of phones and pdas from a buddy- I was initially not going to use this- but found myself getting a charger and using the device. Cons: The battery life when using WIFI, touch keypad Summary: I really actually love this device, works well. I have owned Palm PDAs, A zire 71, M515, M505, TUNGSTEN C./T, and Treo 600, 650, 700p, 700W, 700WX, and Palm 3III so I think I know my Palm and windows platform very well.
Summary: Nice PDA problem is wifi is not secure and can't upgrade to WM 5.0 but the wifi works once you play with it a bit. That's the problem with these greety companies that develope these kind of products and make you pay for everything extra so they can make the buck at all cost. But hey that is why is called capitalism.
Summary: This Compaq cost me about $33 with the dongle. It was a fairly good investment. I upgraded the OS to Windows Pocket PC 2003, and everything worked fine afterwards. Before however, when it ran Pocket PC 2002, WiFi was a nightmare - no access points found, and hard resets didn't help. With Pocket PC 2003, this device has quite a bit of potential (Skype texting (no calls however, because of outdated Skype for PPC 2003), music player, video player, web browser and Bluetooth...
Summary: A great little pda for basic information management. Would be nice if it was fully Windows 7 compatible, but the older Windows Mobile platform creates a barrier there. Not a game-stopper, but challenging at times.
