HP IPAQ 2210

Overstock
14 November 2006
  • Summary: I ordered this IPAQ because it was an incredible deal, and the research I did suggested it was a good unit. I am pleased with the product, and had no problems with the fact that it is a refurbished unit. I had some software issues setting up the ActiveSync utility, which were resolved (if not easily) by using the live technical support at HP. Overall it is a very good value and a good product.

HP iPaq Pocket PC H2210: The iPaq 2210, a suitable device, but don't expect it to do ...

Lazers, Dooyoo

  • Summary: The HP iPaq Pocket PC H2210 has served me well, i must say. with a 400MHz processor it has ample processing speed for most applications, but tends to lag if you are browsing an intensive site, or have several programs open at once. I mainly use mine for surfing the internet, and for writing in, both of which this PDA performs excellently. The PDA has 64mb of SDRAM, which isn't loads, but the storage capability can be extended via Sdcard, or compact flash.
  • Pros: Good processing capability, intuitive use.
  • Cons: Crashes often, input sometimes doesn't register, not really enough SDRAM

This is about as good as PDAs get.

  • Summary: I bought mine about 20 months ago. I have been very pleased with it despite a number of small issues. Firstly, the bad. Two known faults with this device are: -the joystick breaks. You can buy spares for about £6.50 online, and it doesn't prevent normal use of the unit anyway. -the rubber grips on the side fall apart. The latest revision is a little better - they fall off instead!

Long term use

Phil Dickinson, Amazon
8 February 2006
  • Summary: I have been using my HP2110, bought from Amazon, for about 2 yrs. And found it extremely valuable in both my work and leisure activities, once I learned it's weaknesses & strong points. First thing I learned was never remove the battery, or let it run down, there is no sepearate backup battery so U lose all your system settings & everything else stored in Ipaq memory (second thing I learned was to backup to a seperate disk).

  • Excerpt: "This PDA have been used around 2 years, and still working good in condition and performance. With Bluetooth capability make it easy to interact with other bluetooth devices like mobile phones and desktop/laptops. Synchronizing with ActiveSync is easy and give you experience using PDA like external storage into CF or SD Card. With CF jacket for WLAN can't connecting into LAN, still need to be improved in term on LAN connectivity. Hard to find the resources ...
  • Pros: Fast, easy to connect via Bluetooth, SD and CF slot memory expansion
  • Cons: Memory leaked, need to be warm boot, rubber side is easily broken

Cracking little device

salibat, Ciao
9 September 2005
  • Excerpt: "...available from independent developers online. HP could include some software that would make this easier. On the topic of battery life very few people will have problems. When watching contsant movies the battery life is roughly 4 - 4.5 hours. Adding extra features will shorten battery life but not by a huge amount. My wifi card knocks a 2 or 3 hours off of battery life if you're constantly web surfing. Now for some downsides. The device comes ...
  • Pros: multiple connectivity and storage options
  • Cons: little low on internal memory, streaming video too difficult .
