hp IPAQ 2210

5 September 2005
  • Summary: Unless you need/want biometric security, built in WiFi, more internal memory or the older form factor for compatibility with other equipment which the 5000 series provides, this iPAQ model is as much PDA as most people will need. It simply is the best implementation of a compact PocketPC that I’ve come across so far. Highly recommended.

  • Excerpt: Hewlett Packard recently unveiled a slew of new iPAQ PDAs to their already large PDA lineup in conjunction with the release of the Windows Mobile 2003 Operating System. HP has realized over the years that a good way to approach and conquer the PDA market is to have a device for every market segment or price point. Intel does this with their processors, and HP is doing this with the iPAQ.

While the HP iPAQ Pocket PC series 4000 and 5000 aimed on the corporate sector managers [...

  • Conclusion: The HP iPAQ h2210 got a very high score. It has pretty good equipment, high performance and excellent energy efficiency; it's also user-friendly and inexpensive. It's a rare find. Such an attractive price/quality ratio explains the company's aggressive attack aimed at increasing the share in this market sector. This model has no equal competitors. This is the only new PDA up to $400 equipped with a built-in Bluetooth adapter and a couple of expansion slots.

  • Conclusion: Requirements and preferences often differ from person to person and this human trait certainly does not stop when it comes to choosing the ideal Pocket PC for yourself. While the HP iPAQ Pocket PC h5550 is clearly targeted at the higher-end enterprise users needing the extra features with little regard of the higher price, the HP iPAQ Pocket PC h2210 (selling at a suggested retail price of S$749) adequately serves the basic needs of the average individual and corporate...
