Summary: I purchased this pocket pc because I'd lost my Palm Pilot - which I'd had for years. I'd gone back to carrying a book planner and it was not working for me because I needed those alerts, so I spent a few weeks searching for an electronic organizer to replace my beloved Palm Pilot. I settles on a Pocket PC just in case I wanted to do more, like go onto the internet. I also wanted a product that I could read my ebooks on, and I am content with my purchase.
Summary: axim was previously owned but in very good condition - price for pda w/some accessories & a hp jornada 568 pda was $15. you just can't beat that. the screen size & clarity of it grabbed me the most & sealed the deal. it's a little heavier than todays devices & not quite as streamlined. but the unit has a lot of features & is easy to use. connects to internet for email/surfing, etc.
Excellent PDA, excellent alternative for ebook reader

Summary: I've been using an Axim X5 300Mhz since they first came out but wanted to upgrade to a 400 Mhz. There are still large communities for information. It is in essence a mini computer. If you get one with bluetooth or add a bluetooth card you can easily pair with a phone for internet access. Smaller than a netbook it packs easily for trips or vacations. It makes for an excellent ebook reader. You can upgrade to the latest Microsoft Reader, Mobi Reader etc.
Summary: Great replacement for my Palm. With Palm going out of business I needed a PDA that would be repairable if I need parts. So the Dell pocket pc is prefect for me. Like my Palm it has a calendar, media player, acrobat reader, address book and so forth. However, unlike my Palm I can use it like a computer and link it to my outlook that contains all my contacts and appointments.
Summary: I bought this PDA by accident, but when I received it, I really liked it. It's compact, but the screen is big enough to work on. The scanner that came attached isn't as good as my existing one, but oh well, no biggie. I like the touch screen features, but don't like that this model doesn't have wireless capabilites(can be added on). All in all, I really like these PDAs, they are user friendly, and make book scouting soooo much easier.
Summary: This thing has EVERYTHING except for WiFi (Which can be accomplished with a CF card) Excellent color screen is bright and sharp. Battery life is phenominal. 300 Mhz Xscale CPU does not lag no matter what I am doing. Internal memory is slighly subpar in size, but with the addition of a SD card you won't even notice. This device does not use flash memory, so if you loose power everything will be lost. Overall, I am very pleased with it.
Summary: This little Pocket PC is really fantastic. It has really helped me to stay on track with everything that I need to do and to remember. The appointment calender with alarm and task programs that show up on my start menu make it hard for me to forget things. I love not having all those misc. slips of paper for everything. Not only do I use it to schedule appointments for me and my family, I write down all my lists of to do, and even my groceries.
Summary: The reason i bought this pocket PC was to help keep my work schedule organized. The way the calendar is set up, it makes it easy to set appointments and even make reoccurring appointments, its simple. It doesn't have many extra features, but for the low prize i was satisfied with the Dell Axim X5.
Summary: I sent this one to my daughter who immediately liked the newer operating system and software on this little beauty. She soon had it available for her use and hoped to make it work wireless, but was unable to get that part to work. I noticed the add read OPTIONAL wireless, so I had her send the Pocket PC to me because I have the optional piece that is neeed.
Summary: Hi. I recently bought an Axim X5. I had a Zire 31. I am a diabetic and I bought the Zire to be able to log my glucose testing results. Well, something happened and all my data disappeared. So I was using the Zire only for solitair. Then I saw the Axim, it was reasonably priced, so I bought it. I didn't realize at the time that it was a very early model. Yet, I am hoping to restart inputting my testing results.
