It offers Wifi for wireless internet access. Bluetooth can be used for Connection of wireless peripherals. It also has an expansion slot for memory. You can buy SD memory sticks up to 2 GB to use to fit full length movies, Pictures, Music, and games. This product has countless uses.
Excerpt: My husband bought me a Dell Axim for my birthday last year and I love it to pieces! It's my first PDA and for someone with limited PDA-ing experience, its great as its very easy to navigate to whatever you want. Mine has the smallest memory possible and I haven't filled it yet. I guess it all depends on what you use it for.
Excerpt: I evaluated the Dell Axim x3 for my workplace for various tasks such as a using it as a personal diary and installing work applications. I found it was extremely easy to use (I was a first time PDA user) and I was soon using all the features of the software it provided. The PDA is extremely easy to use and set up. I almost didnt need a manual for reference. I did not have an SD card and so the memory on it was very limited.
Pros: Thin and lightweight .
Cons: No backup battery . Can accidentally be wiped when battery runs out .
Excerpt: I bought the Axim X3 a year after i had bought the X5. Comparing the two products the X3 has improved greatly in its design, almost halfing the depth of the device. The hardware has additional buttons that you can customise in the setup. The PDA has a changable battery and a backup battery that recharges. The backup battery will last for 30 minutes and after that you will loose all data. The in-built memory is enough is you are not intenting to put music on it.
Excerpt: I bought the X3i about 2 months ago on ebay. It was basically "as new / boxed etc" and came bundled with Tom Tom Sat. Nav, Bluetooth GPS receiver, usb docking cradle, car cradle/loud speaker, car power supply lead and leather case. To be honest I bought it more for the Sat. Nav. but having used the rest of the features (Calendar, email, microsoft word etc etc) I now wonder how on earth I managed without them before.
Pros: Lightweight, easy to use, good battery life, reliable !
Excerpt: I purchased the Dell X3i during the latter half of 2004 with the intention of using it for an in-car sat-nav system. Although the PDA is pretty cheap brand new from Dell, I decided on purchasing one from ebay at a bargain price as it included the docking station. I'm very very impressed with it indeed. I've got a 512meg SD card installed, with Tom Tom maps of the whole UK. I also have a few hundred megs of digital music on there.
Excerpt: The main purspose of this review is to warn others to be extremely careful when attaching a synch/charge cable to the connector at the base of the unit. The pin connector on the base of the unit is quite fragile and can easily be broken, if so Dell say they will not repair the unit but that you have to buy a new one - BUT read on. I inadvertantly broke my connector when connecting a charger cable to the unit and thereafter could not charge it.
