Summary: " Great piece of kit, light weight ,powerful and with long power cord, the only downside and reason I gave it 4 out of 5 stars is that "for the price it should have contained a chuck adapter that converts SDS to normal drill bits"..
Summary: Bought this to replace an aging bosch SDS, having been impressed with my 18v makita combi drill I though I would give this a go. So far it seems well built and powerfull enough for all jobs I've put to it with no issues, plenty of space in the case for drill bits and chisels. Only real critisism is that compared to other drills in the 2kg class its a little more expensive, though not by a huge amount. All in all pleased so far though time will tell regarding longevity.
Summary: My old Makita finally bit the dust today and it was a no brainer, when it comes to replacing it. The old one has the date 2003 on the data plate (Have I really had it that long?). It's been used around 5 days every week, for drilling and chiselling concrete and its never missed a beat. I've really abused it too. It's got so hot it started to chuck a bit of grease out around three years ago ( only when it got exceptionally hot) and it still went on working.
Summary: The only thing that will stop this machine from working is Kryptonite!! It will drill any material and is awesome in hammer only mode. Chiselled a meter long trench in solid concrete until it was so hot I thought it was going to melt, but no she just kept on going. Brilliant!
Summary: I've owned one for over three years. I've used it to core drill through cavity walls and 2ft thick granite walls for waste pipe, chiseled acres of render and pointing, stitched drilled joist pockets in granite. I've run my poor drill until the body it too hot to hold many many times, and to be fair it should have died ages ago but its still working strong. When it does finally melt I will be getting another...
Summary: This unassuming SDS does exactly what it says on the box! I bought this to remove old rendering that would not budge with a hammer and chisel... Made light work of the job. I've since used it to remove bathroom tiles and to bring a wall back to brick... It just works. Was a toss up between this and the DeWalt D25113k but this seemed to hold better reviews, and besides I already own other Makita drills. So far so good!
Summary: I had a cheap poxy drill for the past 5 years and spent 2 hrs trying to drill through my house external wall. I got fed up, my hands and arms were hurting, not to mention the noise the poor neighbours had to put up with. I then went and bought this drill, it took me 30 seconds to drill through my whole wall!!! I would say Money Well Spent! As it is SDS, buy the "Keyed Chuck & SDS Plus Adaptor 13mm" too, so you can use standard drill bits with this drill..
