Summary: The website description doesn't indicate that it only accepts special SDS bits, the box and caption state rotary hammer,so imagine my surprise when i tried inserting a rotary hammer bit for masonry and it wouldn't catch the bit. i had already purchased a masonry bit for a rotary hammer drill. thankfully i had also purchased a Hitachi DV18DBL earlier and the masonry bit fits fine.
Summary: After burning up several small diameter masonry bits (5/32") using a yellow and black hammer drill and getting nowhere with the job, I saw this drill on Amazon and at the price I figured I might as well chance buying it. The price was slightly higher than what it would cost to rent a SDS drill but I figured after the cost of driving to and from the rental store, it would be a wash. The drill arrived when Amazon predicted it would.
Summary: Got this drill for its steeply cut price for occasional Tapcon mounting on a brick wall. It works fine, takes SDS bits, which are great bits to use for this kind of work. The drill is quite loud, more so than a Bosch I rented. Earplugs help. One brief use so far, no oil leak.
Summary: This is a great bargain for a rotary hammer drill. As long as you are not a professional contractor you will be very satisfied. If I was a contractor that used this continuously I would probably by a larger rotary drill. But if you are a diy'er needing to do some remodeling look no further. I am finishing my basement and debated between using Tapcons or ramset for my bottom plates. I preferred Tapcons but didn't want to spend hundreds on a rotary drill.
Summary: I've been in construction for almost 30 years. Very nice drill for the money. Very powerful. I like that it came with a plastic case for storing additional bits. Also keeps it from getting beat up in the work truck. Depth gauge can be handy but I don't use it. Mostly drilling sizes up 3/8" with this drill. I have a Bosch hammer drill for bigger stuff. Some other reviews say it's loud. C'mon guys, this is a power tool.
Summary: I was worried at this price that this tool would do the job. It did everything I would expect. Can not see what the much more expensive rotary hammers can do for the price unless it is a full time commercial use.
Summary: Having this tool made short work for drilling into concrete. Good price made it cheaper than renting. One of those tools that isn't needed often but makes the job of drilling through concrete a breeze when needed.
