DeWalt DC212KA 18V 3.1kg SDS Plus Cordless Drill Reviews

George Tibbs, Toolhead

  • Conclusion: This product works great, much better than a different company’s 18 volt rotary hammer, although it lacks a chipping or hammer only function. However to be fair SDS+ isn’t meant for heavy chipping applications, if you need to do alot of chipping get a spline drive or SDS MAX, they work so much faster. I cannot accurately say exactly how many holes I get per charge because I drill various hole sizes (3/16″-3/4″).

DeWalt DC212KA 18V 3.1kg SDS Plus Cordless Drill Reviews

Steven Armstrong, Toolhead

  • Conclusion: I bought this drill over a year ago to compliment the dewalt 18v combi drill that I already own. The drill originally came with 2.4ah batteries and a free grinder which I sold. I have been using the it to drill into masonry and after a year of use it still feels great. The battery life is good and better than any of the Bosch 24v sds I have previously owned. This drill is great to use and comes highly recommended.

DeWalt DC212KA 18V 3.1kg SDS Plus Cordless Drill Reviews

  • Conclusion: Although this is a great drill, it comes with Nicad batteries and not the NIMH batteries that it is advertised with. I would definately consider this if you are looking to buy a drill that you can use batteries from an existing kit with as it makes it not such good value.

DeWalt DC212KA 18V 3.1kg SDS Plus Cordless Drill Reviews

  • Conclusion: I am really dissapointed with this drill as it is underpowered and the batteries don’t even last for 10 minutes! In my opinion it is only useful for fixing windows and using as a 18v screwgun as it is nothing like the 240v SDs.

DeWalt DC212KA 18V 3.1kg SDS Plus Cordless Drill Reviews

David Schwarz, Toolhead

  • Conclusion: I have been using a corded sds hammer drill for a number of years and have grown tired of lugging an extension cord around jobsites. When I’m working from a 12-foot ladder the extension cord adds significant weight to the drill. Sure; a corded drill hits harder and drills slightly faster, but the disadvantages, at least in my opinion, outweigh the advantages, thus making a battery hammer-drill a viable choice.

DeWalt DC212KA 18V 3.1kg SDS Plus Cordless Drill Reviews

Stephen McKinney, Toolhead

  • Conclusion: I bought this item because I have almost every Dewalt 18 volt tool there is. This completed the 18 volt system. I used it just the other day and it worked like a champ. If you are drilling several holes, I would recommend the Bosch extreme corded hammerdrill. All in all, the tool is a bit pricy but what isn’t now days.

DeWalt DC212KA 18V 3.1kg SDS Plus Cordless Drill Reviews

Henry Silvers, Toolhead
11 February 2009
  • Conclusion: This compact SDS Drill offers great power with a lightweight compact body. The 18v power pack gives you enough power to use on most jobs. I went with the 18v over the 24v because i was concerned that the 24v would be too bulky and or heavy to use one handed or leaning to a hard to reach space. Coupled with a rapid 15min charger, you will never run out or power.
