Summary: I bought this because I did not have an amp to practice with when I ordered a new guitar. I am staying with family for the holidays and they can't stand loud metal music, so I bought this. For what it is, it's great. It's fairly quiet for a high gain unit. I can't comment on tone, as the guitar I have does not have a great tone for metal out-of-the-box. I need to upgrade the pickups on that one, and I'll upgrade this review once I've done that.
Summary: Kind of gets in the way when plugged in - need to get used to that. Sound is good but if you want a clean sound after too much metal forget it - how much would that cost in terms of another circuit to add? 50 cents in China (oh sorry, it says made in Japan) Oh and why include a pair of cheap junk batteries and say not to use them except to test the amp and then go buy some alkalines - why not just include a couple of Duracell instead?
Summary: In short: Love it! I hvae a floor pod plus and a Roland mini cube... this one really rocks.. or umm, metals! Don't get me wrong, you can forget about gigging with this or for any "heavy" work, but if all you want to do is practice quietly with earphones this does the job really well. I usually have the earphones around my neck (not on my ears) and pop the volume up...
Summary: I bought this after having looked at pretty much every available "headphone" amp out there. Since no local shop has anything decent I had to go by internet reviews. I wanted something around the $50 range...I already have a $300 effects pedal I can use to practice with if I wish, but I wanted something simple for when I just want to pick up my bedroom guitar. Based on other reviews I chose this. I tend to either play metal, or acoustic..
Summary: It serves its purpose. Sound is very good and has enough clean sound volumen. I Wish VOX had one with three different sound effect options in one amp alone. I recommend it. With this amp. you won't bug anybody neither you will die alone.
Summary: This little piece of work packs a lot for such a little thing. I use it on my B.C. Rich Warlock and it screams, this is great when you want to bring your electric with you on your journeys as I will.
A must for any guitarists looking to put some dirt in their pocket.

Summary: This thing is amazing. you can crank out anything from death metal to jazz(well, a little dirty jazz). turning up the tone and gain will give you balls to the walls hell riffage, though i wish the highs were a little higher, but then turning those same dials down and turning the volume up will give you a fairly nice clean sound(of course a coil tap always helps). All in all this thing is one of the best things i have ever bought for my guitar.
Summary: This is a very neat little product, The sound is decent, however, not clean. If you are looking for a clean, undistorted sound, this is not right for you. If you like distortion, this headphone amp is nearly perfect. It may say Metal, but, it does so much more. You can get anything from just a little crunchiness to a Metal (not too heavy, gets too distorted) sound.
