Summary: sounds awsome.on the downside it has very noisy/hiss from hell! thats probrably why their monster tube overdrive has a noisegate built into it.has a great tube tone overdrive.overall this thing screams, just make sure you shut it down as soon as your last solo note rings out.ML
Summary: what i like is it cheap i never see any tube pedal in this price, ans the case is metal, the things i don't like is the pedal is too big, the is not like a distortion not like a tube amp is more like fuzz pedal, the tube is not a good tube, if i have to upgrade all the things it might cost me more than buy a good one,
Summary: When I first started to look for new pedal, I of course wanted to get things as cheap as possible with the best sound possible. What I found is that as far as guitars and effects go, cheap is not a viable option for good sound. This pedal in particular is, quite literally, unusable out of the box.
Behringer Vintage Tube OD VT911- A Good Starting Point
8 August 2010
Summary: I knew going in that this pedal had limitations. I had read that the Chinese tube was of poor quality. It Was! It sounded harsh..It Did! BUT...I also knew that for a fairly low price I had a good starting point. All the basic parts were there. The power supply, tube socket, controls, a metal case, etc. I changed the tube(tried 3 different tubes and did a few mods...and it's not bad. It still has too much gain but that can be moded as well.
Excerpt: Out of the box this thing is very harsh sounding, between 0-1 it's bearable but above that the turns into a nasty, 'static-y' sound. The Bit-Mo mod saves this pedal. I'm getting a lot more control out of the sweep of the overdrive pot, the mod made the tone sooo much nicer. Out of the box I would give this pedal 2 stars but with mod I'm giving it 9 stars. I am using: Strat, FM212r amp, Sovtek Muff, Boss Flanger, and a couple of other pedals/modelers.
Excerpt: I took the experience from the last reviewer and got the bitmo mods, and it sounds much better than it did out of the box. It is now useable and is probably better than my TS7 tubescreamer. More clarity.
"Great value, easily modded to to sound fantastic"

Excerpt: Out of the box, it sounds just OK, more like a distortion pedal on steroids BUT ... It sounds amazing after doing the BitMo mods that are available on eBay. Very much like an overdriven tube amp.
