Summary: This sander has been in use for a month now and displays the strength and durability I had hoped for. While it is heavy that means it just needs guiding. A thankful feature is its relative quiet operation even at the maximum of its variable speeds. (Use ear protection anyway.) Unlike some others I find the belts easy to change and the tracking is perfect. At times it has been run steadily for an hour mounted in a bench vise while sanding smaller pieces.
Summary: yes it works good, is as good a sander as my 4x24 but a hole lot lighter, an easier to handle. haven't done any extensive sanding with it yet as I have three belt sanders. one each for heavy, medium, light sanding. yes it sucks up the dust behind it self to. like everyone says.
Relatively light weight, easy to handle and control

Summary: This is the first and only belt sander I have ever used so I cannot compare it to any other. it is easy to handle and control. It is relatively light weight. Belt changes are hassle free as are the belt adjustments. I used it on 12x2x10 long Douglas fir and had no problems. It was slightly irritating to constantly monitor the belt as it moved out of position and had to be readjusted but this may happen with all belt sanders.
Summary: This is much faster at removing wood than my previous belt sander. It is much quieter. The dust removal is especially good; it really sucks up the dust. It is good it has a speed control because it can easily remove more than I want. I ordered some 320 grit sanding belts and use the lower speed when I do not want to remove too much material. I would give this five stars except that I can not lay the sander on a table on its back for light sanding of small pieces.
Summary: This sander is very powerful and makes my old sander look like a toy. I needed to sand some humps off my living room floor where I had added on the room and this sander made short work of it. You can't go wrong with this one.
Summary: Remove stain and weather spots on wood deck. Started out with pad sander and purchased this belt sander 1/3 way through job. Wish I would have had it from the start. Did not gouge wood when starting out and smoothed and removed old stain nicely. Would recommend.
Summary: Works well, plenty of power, speed adjustment knob in easy to reach location. Dust collection works very well. Balance could use some improvement, the sander wants to dig in on the motor side.
