Summary: This item works very well. I have made steaks, asian style spare ribs, chicken, pork, shrimp, and bacon using this grill. It heats up quickly and evenly and has a real grilled taste, unlike other electric grills that are really just griddles with raised lines. Bacon turns out extra crispy. Everything else is juicy. The clean up was also very easy. I put the drip tray in the dishwasher the first time but now I just line it with aluminum foil.
Summary: We originally purchased a GF contact grill, but after 30 minutes of preheating, it never got hot enough to create grill marks on my steak. It may have been a defective unit, but I didn’t want to take my chances and decided to go a different route. After a lot of research, I settled on the Zojirushi countertop grill. This thing is awesome. Even though the instructions say to preheat for 4 minutes, I let it go for 10 just to be safe.
Summary: Power cord failed after 13 months. It was never dipped in water, only moistened cloth wiped it. I lived with the grill never really getting clean, even though it is supposed to be non-stick, because it grilled nicely. It did last a 13 months, but from other reviews I thought it would last. After all, it is just a heating element.
Summary: Over the years I've purchased so, so many indoor grills, and I didn't like any of them even a little bit. Most indoor grills are "contact" grills with a lid that grills the top of the food while the bottom grills the underside. I could do that in a frying pan by just turning my food. The Zojirushi is a real grill with openings for the grease to drip into a pan.
Summary: This things rocks!!! Do not waste your money on other brands this grill is perfect, the grill/element assembly is solidly built cast iron for heat distribution with a really durable heavy duty no-stick coating. The handles are connected with thick stainless steel brackets with stainless steel screws. From design to assembly, very well done!!

Summary: I spent hours researching indoor electric grills before deciding to purchase the Zojirush. I wanted something that would get hot enough to really mimic outdoor grilling and the reviewers on Amazon.com seemed to indicate that this one would--and also be easy to clean. I knew it would be small--only enough for three to four people, but that's fine for our small family. But if you want to cook for a crowd, this grill is too small for your needs.
Summary: As an apartment resident, we cannot have open flame grills on our patios/balconies. After reading numberous reviews of electric grills, I finally decided on this one. The grill performed about as good as I expected. Do not expect for this to replace a gas or chorcoal grill; however, if you cannot have an open flame grill this is a great option. I have used this grill in my kitchen many times. Depending on what is grilled, it may produce some smoke.
Summary: We bought the Zoji a couple of years ago. When we first received, it we liked it, but not that much - somewhat uneven and slow cooking. We then decided to find something to use as a grill cover. We have found that the deep disposable aluminum rectangular pans work perfectly. We grill everything under the cover using a temperature half way between medium and high. Everything we have tried cooks perfectly, rivaling our outside gas grill.
Summary: I really like this grill. It heats up quickly and evenly. I use it for bacon, burgers, and veggies. One word of caution: the finish of the grill scratches fairly easily. To clean it, I use a paper towel to wipe down the surface. During one cleaning session, I scraped off one of those crusty charred bits that you'd find on any grill and it actually left scratch marks. Not really a deal-breaker for me; just thought I'd point it out.
