Summary: We bought this appliance to use while the BBQ area of our Maui condo was being renovated. Condo rules would not allow us to have a BBQ on our lanai (deck). Yet sitting on our lanai, grilling everything from Mahi-Mahi to rack of lamb on this Zorjirushi grill has benn a pleasure. I was not sure that the grill would do a decent job on the rack of lamb, but it cooked it perfectly in the same time that I would normally use on the outdoor BBQ.
Summary: I wanted a grill for indoors since it snows here and is hard to be outside in the winter time. This grill is it.
For everyone that complained that it is too heavy, smokey, too small, and doesn't heat up fast enough.... well guess what? It's lighter than a full blown outdoor grill/smoker and is much easier to clean. It is smokey because you're grilling food!! And its small... well, get two!! it's only $75.
Summary: The research I did on these type of grills paid off! I have had other brands in the past that didnt hold up, this is the second one I purchased. I bought one a year ago and was very pleased with the quick, easy disassembly for cleaning. It is well made and durable, I have used it for a year and have been very happy with it. I bought this one for my daughter.
Summary: It gets hotter than my old grill. That was the biggest reason that I chose the Zojirushi.
My previous electric grill was more of a ridged griddle and I like the design of this one, it's more like an outdoor grill.
Summary: Cooks really well and with even heat! I generally use Medium heat setting, and so far it has not set off smoke detectors. Much better overall and far easier to clean than my previous Sunbeam grill. Best tip for cleaning is to use a fairly small dishwashing brush with long bristles. Also, a piece of foil can be used to catch drippings to help with clean-up.
