Excerpt: Great grill- it is pricey but you do get what you pay for. This is a high quality grill, built solid, and heats up quickly. Before buying this grill I had an economical one that I purchased at a home goods store, and the difference is noticeable. My weber grill heats up quicker, grills more evenly, and as a bonus looks great on my deck. The thick , heavy grilling grates are a nice example of the quality of this grill.
Summary: The Weber Summit S-420 is a fabulous grill. The grates are made of 9.5 mm (3/8") 300 series stainless rod and are almost as heavy as cast iron. The hood is vented at the top rear unlike the Genesis which is closed. The LED tank gage on the front panel is a nice feature. The grill cooks superbly, typical for Weber. I replaced my 14 year old Weber Genesis 1000 (it still works perfectly) with a Weber Summit S-420. AJ Madison delivered an incredible shopping experience.
Summary: Did a lot of searching for new gas grille as part of our move to Florida. Wanted a high quality grille that would last for years, had sufficient grilling capacity, looked good, and worked well. Since getting the grille, have been extraordinarily pleased. It is extremely well built; very solid; virtually fully assembled (except for side burners) and works like a charm. The individual burner ignition is awesome.
Summary: The service from AJ Madison was perfect. They delivered on time and kept me informed during the entire process. The Weber Summit is a wonderful grill. I would recommend wiping the exterior down with olive oil or other oil since I experienced a couple of rust spots on the shelf areas during the first month. I am not sure why this would happen on "stainless". Oil will keep the finger prints and other smudges from being visible as well.
Excerpt: Weber knows how to make a quality product. Yes, you pay for it. My last gas Weber lasted 12 years and it still worked so I was able to get a few bucks for it via [...]. I expect this one to last as long if not longer.
Pros: Easy Assembly, Easy To Use, Even Heat, Great Design
