Summary: It doesn't have removable plates and cleaning is a chore. The lit doesn't "float" so it is uneven cooking. I'm giving this away and getting a new Waring WGG500 press that has four removable plates and easy to clean. The Waring is not much more and is worth the difference in price.
Summary: ARRIVED PROMPTLY IN GOOD CONDITION, QUICK CLEANING, FIRE IT UP, GOOD TO GO. LAST NIGHT 1/2 WAY THRU 2ND SANDWICH, A "CLICK" AND DONE. DEAD. OVER. WAS ONLY $30 W/SHIPPING BUT SHOULD HAVE LASTED LONGER. SPEND A LITTLE EXTRA, GET A BETTER ONE W/REMOVABLE PLATES. IT HAS MADE COLD CUT NIGHT INTO A HOT MEAL. GREAT GADGET, JUST NOT THIS ONE.
Summary: got as a gift for Christmas and after using several times wish I didn't have it. Clean up is a hassel. Its heavy and does not come apart so you have to struggle with it to wipe it down well. It does heat well and the indicator light is nice but I just would rather not have it cluttering up the counter or cupboard and will pass it on when I have an appropriate recipient
Summary: I wish I had read all of the reviews before I purchased this product as a shower gift for a bride. I learned today that it worked for one month and now has completely stopped working!!! I have owned my panini maker for over 10 years. This is astoundingly poor quality and now I have read many reviews here saying they had the exact same problem. This is completely unacceptable. Amazon should pull this product from their inventory!!
Summary: We enjoyed this unit while it was working. Last night it just died in the middle of cooking dinner for the kids. I called Hamilton Beach this morning, and they kindly offered to replace the unit under warranty... for $15 s&h. That is literally half of the cost of a new unit. This is a disgusting policy. I will not buy a Hamilton Beach product again.
Summary: I was disappointed to find that the Hamilton Beach 25450 was another product for which the Chinese cut corners on quality in order to increase the profit margin. Specifically, after a few uses the non-stick coating came off in small pieces and stuck to the food as it was cooking. To salvage the product, I removed as much of the non-stick coating as I could. I now wrap food in aluminum foil, which seals in the "juices" when grilling meat.
Summary: Panini maker broke down within 3 days that I bought it. Very, very disappointed in this product. Tried to make grilled cheese sandwiches and the cheese barely melted and the bread got hard when put in a little too long. Would NOT recommend this product to anyone.
