Summary: It was a nice performing card, but It just stopped working after 3 months. I decided I would re-flow it...and it worked for a another 3 months...Unfortunately the last time it was beyond repair.
Summary: I bought this card because I was looking for low-priced card to run three displays. This technically worked, but I had to run out and buy mini-HDMI to HDMI cable (and then attach an HDMI to DVI adapter to that).
Pros: Low price Supports 3 displays
Cons: Takes up a lot of room in PC Mini-HDMI connector required "special" cable Mini-HDMI cable would not fit without modification
Summary: I was very happy with this card for 8 months until it progressively failed over a couple of days with increasingly frequent black screens. The card was driving two 1920 x 1200 monitors through its pair of DVI ports and Windows gave it an "Experience Index" of 7.
Summary: Kepler GPUs don't work with Badaboom. This is a perfect solution for HTPC or powerful PC without high performance gaming.
Pros: Quiet, because it is fanless. Fast & efficient new(ish) Kepler gpu. Heatsink appears to be high quality. Runs at 30 degrees C during DVD playback. I have not yet put this card through it's paces; I just install it today.
Cons: The specs on newegg are incorrect. This card actually has 1 DVI, 1DVI-I, and one MINI-HDMI. I was very irritated at this, I was expecting this to be an easy replacement for integrated (Sandy Bridge) graphics. The Heatsink actually extends past the back face of this card. This was quite troublesom...
Pros: After I fixed it, it runs well, low power, fanless, and beats my 8800GTX by 2x on HalfLife at 2560x1600. My PC now takes 82W at idle (vs. 132W) and at full bore on the Halflife video stress test, it takes only 150W (vs. 223W), while delivering twice the FPS. And I LOVE the fanless quietness. Sinc...
Cons: Wow! When I first installed it, it was fine, but if I fired up a video game, my computer FROZE (I let this happen like 4 times to make sure it wasn't drivers, which I updated). I took the heat sink off, and reseated it after moving around the heat compound, (it is only held on loosely by spring l...
Pros: Generally a good card, quiet and fanless, perfect for a music studio.
Cons: The mini HDMI port is very temperamental. The first card I got it didn't work at all. I got a replacement card and it works most of the time, but the slightest bump of the cable and it will loose the connection. Pretty frustrating, not what you'd expect from a card at this price range.
Summary: I unplugged the fan on mine and it's now silent. That is not the best thing to have to do to a brand new VGA. It works great in Windows 7 and 8 as well as OS X Mountain Lion in my Hackintosh which is what I'm using it for.
Pros: Performance is good for what you are buying. It should perform the same as any other GT640 out there and it does.
Cons: While the performance is there, so is the noise. The fan is really loud. Really. Too loud and so I don;t recommend this card for that reason.
Summary: As a previous reviewer said, the rebate process is convoluted. FYI, you will need to click on the rebate center at the bottom of the page to find the right rebate form, not the link in the invoice. Then the rebate comes as an American Express Pre-paid credit card.
Pros: After taking metal shears to case more below, If you follow directions and uninstall old drivers, works right of the box after installing. Drivers installed easily and now have incredible resolution on 32" JVC LED 1080 60 using as monitor. Still trying to decide if speed of video processing has i...
Cons: Putting the mini HDMI port at the extreme of the screw hold down end is not smart, not enough room to plug in cable. I needed adapter to go from mini to full HDMI cable, no converter included for that. Needed to cut away some of the case to get access to the port, if the port was at the other end...
